“Of course not,” Dominic replied.
He felt nothing but disgust whenever he thought about Shirley. She was so greedy it practically oozed off her, yet she still pretended to be gracious and selfless.
“You don’t like her, but you’re still marrying her. That explains it all.”
Hannah tugged her lips into a half–smile. “Aman doesn’t have to be in love with a woman to sleep with her. Just like you don’t love Shirley, but you’re still going to marry her. And even if you don’t like her, you’ll surely get hard when she’s lying naked in your bed as your wife.”
That was crude but not wrong.
Dominic was momentarily speechless.
He realized he really shouldn’t make small talk with Hannah. She never took the bait, and on top of that, she always had something clever to say, one line after another.
“So, Mr. Lancaster, let’s end our deal here. I won’t be the woman who ruins someone else’s marriage,” Hannah said, her tone firm and unwavering.
“But if you dare use my family to threaten me, I promise, you won’t get away unscathed.”
She’d started with nothing. She saw everything she’d gained over the years as a bonus from God. If she had to,
she could go

to zero.
Dominic stared at her intently. He couldn’t help but think Hannah was far too stubborn and unyielding.
The air between them turned heavy.
Then, out of nowhere, a ringtone broke the silence. It was Hannah’s phone.
Hannah searched everywhere but couldn’t find her phone. She frowned. “Where’s my phone?”
Dominic’s sharp eyes quickly spotted the phone wedged between the couch cushions. He picked it up casually. But when he saw the caller ID boldly displaying the word “sweetie“, his eyes narrowed slightly.
“Sweetie?”
There was a probing glint in Dominic’s eyes, laced with a hint of danger.
Hannah’s expression paled instantly. She lunged forward to grab her phone. “Give it back!”
But Dominic caught her wrist and held her in place.
“Are you panicking?” Dominic took in her reaction. His tone was unreadable as he said, “It seems like this sweetie means a lot to you, huh?”
“No! Not at all,” Hannah shot back, but her heartbeat was pounding in her chest.
She thought she had nothing, but she’d forgotten that over the years, she’d gained the most important person in her life. But she was also Hannah’s greatest weakness.
“Then why use that contact name?” Dominic asked coolly.
“That’s none of your business!”
The phone kept ringing..
Hannah glared at him. “Give it back!”

“Sweetheart, you’re panicking,” Dominic said with a smirk. It was rare to see Hannah flustered. But unfortunately, it wasn’t because of him.
- Now he was dying to know who that “sweetie” was.
Was she secretly involved with another man? Did she not want to have his child because she planned to have someone else’s instead? Or had she already done it during the time they were apart?
Dominic’s grip on the phone tightened. The darkness in his eyes intensified.
He’d molded her and taught her everything, yet she’d actually used what he’d taught her on another man?
The mere thought of it made him want to reach through the phone and rip that so–called “sweetie” apart.
So, just as the call was about to end, Dominic swiped his thumb across the screen and answered it.
Hannah’s eyes widened. Her heart nearly stopped in her chest.
And then, a child’s voice floated through the speaker. “Mommy, I miss you. When are you coming to get me?”
