Feeling a sense of relief, Hannah leaned back on the couch and picked up her phone to call Chloe.
“Chloe, I’m free now. How about I come to pick you
up?”
Chloe’s voice brightened with surprise. “Really? You finished all your work for the day?”
“Yes. From now on, I’ll have more time to spend with you.”
“But Mommy, don’t you still have other work to do?” Chloe asked carefully, showing her understanding.
Hannah smiled. “No matter how important work is, you’re more important. You’re my most precious treasure in the whole world!”
“Mommy, you’re my most precious in the whole world too!” Chloe’s voice came clearly over the phone, childish yet
resolute.
Upon hearing that, Hannah covered her mouth. Though her eyes brimmed with unwillingness and helplessness, they shone even more with tears of relief and quiet joy.
As night fell, Anathea sat at her vanity, holding the divorce petition Giselle had given her. T.. handwritten signature.
She picked up the pen but hesitated.

Anathea pressed her lips together, struggling silently for a long moment.
Suddenly, Cyrus‘ voice came from outside the door. “Mrs. Sinclair Mr. Sinclair is back from getting his dressing changed.”
“Okay.” Anathea blinked and came back to reality. She quickly signed her name on the paper.
At that moment, Gregory appeared in the doorway and noticed the pen in her hand and the papers on the table. “What are you writing so seriously?”
