Anathea lifted her gaze to look at him, and the words Brisa had sal to her echoed in her mind. “I think you two do have feelings for each other. It shouldn’t end like this.”
Unfortunately for Anathea, “feelings” was far too vague and elusive word. What she wanted now was freedom.
Anathea shook her head. “Nothing. It’s getting late. Let’s go back
Not pressing it, Gregory said, “Alright.”
He then grabbed one of her hands, and Xander grabbed the other.
The three of them walked away together, the image of a small family fading into the distance. To someone unaware of the full story, they seemed perfectly warm and harmonious.
As Natalie watched them from afar, she clenched her fingers.
Gregory really had fallen for Anathea!
Natalie was practically sick with jealousy. Hadn’t Eleanor said Gregory wouldn’t fall for anyone?
“Eleanor, you kept telling me to wait. But now, the whole Sinclair family knows she’s pregnant. What chance do I even have left? “Natalie asked bitterly.
Had Eleanor not manipulated the situation, Anathea’s pregnancy wouldn’t have been exposed.
“Didn’t you say you’d help me? How is this helping me?”
If anything, Eleanor had helped Anathea by doing this. Once Lennox fully accepted Anathea, Natalie wouldn’t stand a chance.
“You can’t see the bigger picture. What do you even know?” Eleanor shot her a displeased look. She really didn’t understand why her son and daughter were stupid.
She exhaled and added, “I wanted the whole family to know about her pregnancy. The more people who know about it, the more chaotic it will get.”
“What?” Natalie was lost.
“Just wait and see.” Eleanor looked toward the three figures growing smaller in the distance, a mysterious smile curling at her
lips.
The day after they returned from the Sinclair residence, Anathea began actively getting closer to Gregory.
He was in the study, going through documents, when she walked in with a cup of coffee.
“Are you busy?” she asked.
“A bit.” Gregory set down the document in his hand and took the coffee she handed over, taking a sip. “It tastes great.”
He didn’t know if it was psychological, but even though it was the same brand of coffee, it had tast swallow it back when he’d seen Anathea with Thomas.
Had he cared this much about Anathea even back then?
bitter he couldn’t
Gregory realized it belatedly.
Just then, his phone rang. It was a call from Edward.
Anathea saw it as well. So, before Gregory could reach for the phone, she sat down on his lap, wrapping her arms around his firm waist.

Gregory froze.
Looking up at him, she said, “Don’t work today, okay? Just stay with me.”
Gregory’s lips pressed into a thin line, something unreadable flickering in his eyes.

His phone in his hand was still ringing, and Anathea looked at him nervously. She knew exactly why Edward was calling. She was stalling Gregory to give Giselle some time.
But she wasn’t sure if her little act would work. She wasn’t very confident.
After all, in Gregory’s world, work came above everything. She wasn’t so naive as to ignore that.
But to her surprise, Gregory didn’t rush to answer the call. Instead, he looked at her and asked gently, “Are you feeling unwell?”
“No.” Anathea bit her lip, as though she’d steeled herself. Then, she lifted her head to kiss the corner of his lips and whispered, I just want you to stay with me. Just for a day.”
Anathea blinked, her eyes glimmering. “Please?”
Gregory’s breath hitched for a second. He raised his hand to caress her cheek, his voice slightly hearse as he hesitated. “A whole day… I’m afraid you won’t be able to handle it.”
Anathea said nothing, but a small smile appeared on her face. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she kissed him again
She rarely took the initiative to kiss him, and it made something inside Gregory leap with joy.
He circled his arms around her waist, trailing his hand down her back as he deepened the kiss. Then, with one sweep of his arm, he knocked all the documents off the table and laid her down on the tabletop.
Anathea’s legs hung off the edge, making her feel unstable. She tried to get down, but he gently pressed her back.
Gregory’s lips brushed her ear as he whispered, “Annie, all I’ve ever wanted… is for you to be happy.”
