Chapter 343
Gregory truly was a lunatic!
Anathea lowered her head, covering her face with both hands. The room was quiet, as she was the only one there. The only
sound was her soft sobs.
Jenny stood outside, watching Anathea’s thin shoulders trembling as she cried. Her heart ached for Anathea.
Just then, a small figure walked into the room.
“Mom, why are you crying?” Xander asked with concern. He brought tissues and gently wiped Anathea’s tears, mimicking the way she used to comfort him when he cried.
Anathea gradually quieted down, staring at the kid who looked so much like Gregory.
“Don’t cry, Mom. I brought you candy.” Xander took two pieces of candy from his pocket and held them out to her with both hands as though he were offering treasure.
“A classmate gave these to me. I don’t want them, and I want you to have them. If you eat them, you won’t be sad anymore.”
Anathea didn’t move, so Xander took the initiative to unwrap one and brought it to her mouth.
The sweet flavor spread across her tongue the moment it touched her taste buds, as if it really could wash away some of the
bitterness in her heart.
“Don’t cry, Mom.”
When he ran out of tissues, Xander used his sleeve to wipe away her tears. He’d always been the one being comforted and had
never comforted others, so he was a bit clumsy.
But he still tried his very best to make her happy.
“Mom, can I sing for you?”
And then he began to sing. But apparently, he hadn’t been blessed with a singing voice, as he was off–key from the very first
note.
Anathea suddenly saw an image of Gregory being completely off–key with a straight face. Her lips twitched slightly.
Seeing this, Xander leaned closer and made a funny face.
Anathea finally smiled through her tears.
“Yay! Mom smiled!” Xander’s eyes lit up with joy. He looked at the last candy in his hand.
It was a gift from a girl in his class. He hesitated for a moment, then gave it to Anathea.
Anathea’s happiness was what mattered the most to him.
Watching from the side, Jenny smiled with relief as she watched Xander cheering Anathea up. She felt Xander had grown more mature. He was no longer as willful as before.
That was a good thing. After all, which child in the world didn’t love their mother?
“Mrs. Sinclair, I’ve asked Bella to prepare lunch for you. Please come downstairs and eat a little,” Jenny said gently.
“Mom, let’s eat something. You’ll get hungry if you don’t eat.” Xander held her hand.
Anathea paused. Seeing Xander blinking at her, she nodded and stood up.
However, just as they reached the first floor, the front door was pushed open from the outside.
Footsteps followed. A group of bodyguards in suits stormed in, forming two rows like a black wall. They exuded an oppressive

presence.
Jenny was startled by the display and quickly stepped in front of Anathea and Xander. “Who are you? How can you just barge in?”
The next moment, a man in a long black coat stepped out. It was Peter Coleman, Lennox’s aide.
“We’re under Mr. Lennox’s orders. Mrs. Sinclair is requested to come to the Sinclair residence.”
At the hospital, Gregory was half–lying on the hospital bed as the doctor stitched up his wound.
Gregory sucked in a sharp breath.
“Now you feel the pain? Where was this hesitation when you stabbed yourself?” Adrian joked, shaking his head at the sight of Gregory covered in blood.
“You’ve really lost your mind.”
“How could I not when she said the baby isn’t mine and that she wants a divorce?” Gregory shot back coldly
Adrian fell silent for a moment. Clearly, the situation was far more complicated than he’d thought.
“So, what’s your plan now?” he asked, looking at Gregory.
“In one hour, Adam will be out of prison. Are we making a move?”
