Chapter 364
Holding the applicator, Anathea paused for a second. She didn’t know how Gregory had figured out it was her so quickly. “Louie’s heavy–handed. He wouldn’t be this gentle. But you don’t have to do this. Go rest,” Gregory uttered softly. Anathea didn’t leave, nor did she say anything. She just continued applying the medicine to his wound.
Gregory looked up at her reflection in the window.
Anathea stood behind him, her brows lowered. A strand of hair had fallen loose, and she tucked it behind her ear with one hand. The fading sunlight cast a soft, warm glow on her.
He stared at the reflection intently, as if he was trying to imprint this image of her into his memory forever. A dark and selfish thought rose in him–he wanted to hide her away, to keep her from anyone else’s eyes.
He wanted her to belong only to him.
Anathea had no idea what was going through his mind. Once she finished applying the medicine, she picked up a clean piece of gauze and wrapped it around his shoulder and back. After securing it, she cut it before tying a knot.
Only after that did her guilt lessen slightly, and she turned to leave
Gregory caught her wrist. “Wait.”
He slowly turned his head and met her gaze. “My shirt…”
He admitted he was being a bit greedy. Anathea had already helped with the medicine, and now he was pushing his luck, wanting her help with his shirt too.
He just wanted to spend a little more time with her, even if only a little.
Anathea frowned, but Gregory looked at her with those pitiful eyes. Then, he awkwardly lowered his head and muttered, “It’s fine. You can go. I’ll manage somehow. I’m okay.”
Anathea didn’t know what to say.
In the end, she picked up the shirt and said in a calm voice, “Arms up.”
Gregory’s lips curved slightly, and he obediently slipped into the shirt.
Anathea pulled the collar up to his neck and stepped around to face him. She paused slightly before reaching out to button it up for him.
From the corner of her eye, she unintentionally caught a glimpse of the wound on his abdomen. It no longer needed gauze, and a dark scab had formed. It was stark and jarring against his pale skin.
She pressed her lips together.
Gregory wordlessly tugged the hem of the shirt down to cover it. “Im fine now.”
“Does it still hurt?” Anathea asked without thinking.
But the moment the words left her mouth, she froze–because Gregory had reached out and grabbed her wrist. He pulled her in front of him, his eyes glinting.
“Are you worried about me?”
“No.”
Anathea took a step back, trying to pull her hand away. But Gregory slipped an arm around her waist and pulled her onto his lap. Anathea frowned slightly and struggled to get up. She must have accidentally pulled on his wound, as she heard a low hiss

“Don’t move,” he uttered.
Anathea’s body went rigid, but she stopped struggling, though she still looked uncomfortable.
Gregory rested his chin on her shoulder. “You care about me. That makes me happy.”
She felt his warm hand move slowly from her waist to her front, wrapping her completely in his arms. He then lowered his hand to her lower abdomen, resting it there.
The next second, Gregory lifted the hem of her shirt and slipped his fingers underneath, gently caressing her belly. Anathea froze at his gesture.
“You call me a liar, but aren’t you the same? I know the baby’s mine, yet you insist it’s someone else’s. You’re just trying to piss me off, right?” he whispered.
“Who do you want the baby’s father to be? Theo? Or that Thomas?”
Anathea bit her lip, saying nothing.
All Gregory got in return was silence.
He let out a helpless sigh as he gritted his teeth in frustration. “Anathea, you’ve gotten mean. But no matter what, I won’t let you leave me.”
Anathea lowered her gaze, her fingers slowly curling inward.
After a long while, Gregory finally let her go, albeit reluctantly.
“The ravioli I made is in the fridge. If you get hungry, ask Jenny to cook some for you,” he remarked.
