“That’s a good idea.” Gregory smiled faintly. “But I’ll only be the chef for my wife.”

Anathea felt a bit caught off guard by his straightforward words and glanced away, only to notice another book next to him,” Baby’s First Meals.”
“Baby’s First Meals?” she asked, looking at him.
“Yeah.” Gregory Gregory flipped through it casually. There were already notes and markings inside. “I’m just practicing ahead of time, so I won’t be scrambling at the last minute.”
A flicker of surprise crossed Anathea’s eyes as she uttered in a hushed voice, “But you said you didn’t like the baby…”
Gregory had once said he didn’t want the baby. But now, lie was learning how to prepare baby food.
He paused for a moment, his gaze falling on her belly As he recalled the strong, rhythmic sound of the baby’s heartbeat he’d once heard, a softness surfaced in his eyes.
“It’s not that I don’t like her. I just… don’t want you to only love her and not me. I’d be jealous.”
“You’re jealous of a baby that’s not even born yet?” Anathea shot him a look.
And it wasn’t just the baby. Gregory also got jealous of Xander, Thep, and even Jenny when she got too close to Anathea.
It was as though he were jealousy itself.
Yet, Gregory nodded seriously. “Yes.”
Anath was speechless for a moment.
He looked at her intently, uttering seriously, “I just… want you to give me a bit of what you feel for the baby.”
There was a hint of vulnerability and hesitation in his tone, as if he was waiting anxiously for her response.
Anathea chuckled. “Oh? So, you want to be my son?”
Gregory froze, looking aggrieved. “Anathea!”
He was seriously asking for more affection from her, and she responded with that? He was her husband! Since when did the world turn upside down like this?
When Anathea saw his indignant expression, her smile deepened. But she still decided to clarify. “What I feel for the baby is motherly, and you said you wanted me to share some of that with you. Doesn’t being my son make sense, then?”
Anathea successfully made Gregory tongue–tied. But once he understood the implication behind her words, his eyes lit up.
So, Anathea was telling him that what she felt for the baby was different from what she felt for him? In other words, he was special to her?
The corners of Gregory’s lips lifted into an involuntary smile.
Anathea was puzzled. She had no idea why he suddenly looked so overjoyed.
“Eat a bit more. You’re too skinny.” Gregory smiled as he placed food in her bowl.
Anathea noticed how he couldn’t quite hide the smile on his face, though she didn’t know why. She could only eat the food in silence.
Every time she finished something, Gregory would add more to her plate. He would’ve just fed her if he could.
She ate a bit more than usual that evening, which made him visibly happy.
After she finished the last sip of soup, he pulled out a notebook and handed it to her. On the page were more than a dozen dish

names, written neatly.
‘These are all the dishes I’ve learned recently. If there’s anything you feel like eating each day, just pick from the menu. I’ll make it for you.”
Anathea looked at the list of dish names. Almost all of them were her favorites, which caught her by surprise.
After all, not too long ago, he was still a picky, domineering CEO. And now, he was cooking meals himself, giving off serious stay -at–home husband energy.
It felt… oddly surreal.
Still, she put the notebook away carefully.
Aside from that, there was something else she felt she had to make clear to him.
She looked at Gregory and remarked, “Gregory, I don’t want to be locked up at home all the time. I have my own work and dreams that I want to pursue. I don’t want to be caged here like a bird with no freedom.”
This was her bottom line. Without freedom, there would be no feelings.
Gregory didn’t say anything at first, a sense of conflict flashing in his eyes.
Anathea thought he was going to insist on keeping her here again, and her fingers tightened slightly.
But in the next moment, he sighed slowly and replied, “All right. You can go out. I won’t restrict you anymore.”
