Harvey froze for a moment. The call wouldn’t go through.
He glanced around and realized that aside from himself and Gregory, no one else was there. None of his men had arrived outside the private chapel. His eyes widened in shock. “You set me up!”
“Don’t make it sound so unpleasant,” Gregory replied casually. “I just made you come a little early so I could deal with you first and prevent you from ruining the ceremony.”
The moment Harvey stepped into the private chapel, Gregory had already ordered his men to neutralize all of Harvey’s men stationed outside, cutting off Harvey’s backup before he could even react.
Harvey immediately sensed something was wrong. His expression changed drastically as he turned to leave. But Gregory’s bodyguards blocked his path and grabbed his arms, forcing him to one knee.
“Gregory! This is the private chapel! How dare you behave this outrageously?” Harvey growled through gritted teeth.
“Oh, don’t you know that it’s not my first time being ‘outrageous‘?‘ Gregory stepped forward, looking down at Harvey.
“You have no power now. You will be officially removed from the Sinclair family. From this moment on, you are no longer one of us.”
“You wouldn’t dare!” Harvey roared, livid.
“How dare a mere brat like him remove me from the family?” Harvey thought.
“You haven’t even become the head of the family yet, and you already dare to overstep your bounds. Is your grandpa dead to you?
“If I were the head of the family right now, you wouldn’t be talking to me like this.” Gregory’s voice was cold and ruthless, completely crushing the last shred of hope Harvey clung to.
Harvey glared at Gregory. He’d thought that by setting the fire in Syntherra last night, he would manage to throw Gregory off balance or delay him, at the very least.
But to his shock, not only had Gregory remained composed, he had preemptively set everything in motion and trapped Harvey so effortlessly.
Harvey’s eyes darted around, and suddenly, a thought struck him as he shouted, “Gregory! Your wife is in my hands right now!”
That was his only bargaining chip left.
But Gregory merely glanced at him with calm composure. “Do you always spout nonsense when you’re cornered?”
Up in the attic, Anathea looked at Gregory nervously, emotions swirling inside her.
“I’m not talking nonsense!” Harvey looked up and threatened, “If you dare lay a hand on me, I’llend her right now and throw her corpse at your feet!”
Harvey didn’t believe for a second that Gregory, who was so protective of Anathea, could stay calm once he learned she was in Harvey’s hands.
He wanted to see for himself. Between Anathea and being the head of the family, what would Gregory choose?
At those words, Anathea’s palms broke out in sweat.
However, upon hearing Harvey’s words, Gregory merely let out a faint chuckle, his voice devoid of emotions. “I’ll be waiting, then.”
Harvey froze for a second, disbelief flashing through his eyes. He hadn’t expected Gregory to remain so composed.
Anathea was stupefied as she stared at Gregory with wide, trembling eyes.

“And here I thought you were deeply in love, Gregory. Turns out, you’re no different from the rest!” Harvey sneered.
He had expected to at least see some trace of panic or conflict on Gregory’s face. But there wasn’t even the slightest sign of hesitation.
As Gregory faced Harvey’s mocking gaze, he clenched his fingers slightly. The memory of Victor dying in front of him while he was utterly powerless flashed through his mind. His expression turned even colder.
“Feelings are the most useless thing in this world. You’re the one who taught me that, Uncle Harvey.”
At that moment, Harvey was shaken by the murderous chill in Gregory’s eyes. It was like staring into the eyes of a cold–blooded
monster.
It was only then that Harvey realized how wrong he was. Anathea might not have been Gregory’s true weakness. Victor was.
But Victor was gone, which meant there was nothing left in this world that could threaten Gregory. What awaited Harvey now was total ruin.
He started feeling scared, but it was already too late.
“Harvey, your greatest mistake was overestimating yourself and provoking the wrong person,” Gregory stated coldly.
Outside the private chapel, Harvey’s anguished scream rang out into the air.
