Chapter 440
Now Hannah finally understood why Anathea had once called Gregory a madman.
He was practically insane. Or maybe even a step beyond madness.
Amadman was just mad. But Gregory wasn’t just mad. He was almost pathologically fixated on Anathea.

After two days under observation, Anathea was cleared to leave the hospital.
She pushed herself upright. The next moment, the door to her ward swung open. Thinking it was the last person she wanted to see, she didn’t bother turning around.
“Are you feeling any better?” Adrian asked gently.
Upon hearing that, Anathea finally turned around. When she saw Adrian, she was surprised.
He must’ve noticed the question lingering in her eyes because he answered before she could ask, “We’re here to take you home.” As he spoke, Louie wheeled in a chair and looked at her. “Let’s go.
“Where to?” Anathea was confused.
To the Sinclair residence.”
Adrian draped a thick blanket over her legs. “Greg said your body’s still weak. He told us to be extra careful bringing you back.”
Louie also stepped forward and wrapped her up, sealing out even the slightest breeze.
Before Anathea could ask why they were taking her there, Louie had already settled her into the wheelchair and was briskly pushing her out of the ward.
Anathea frowned. The Sinclair residence was the last place she wanted to be.
“Don’t worry. We won’t hurt you,” Louie muttered.
And just like that, Louie and Adrian escorted her to the Sinclair residence. They led her through long corridors until they stopped behind a decorative screen. Neither of them moved to push her forward.
A flicker of confusion flashed across Anathea’s face.
Then, from the other side of the screen came a choked, muffled sound.
Natalie was dragged out by two bodyguards and forced to her knees in the center of the hall.
Meanwhile, Gregory sat on a dark ebony throne chair, looking down at her like a judge.
One of the guards ripped the cloth gag from her mouth.
Natalie finally caught her breath. She looked at Gregory with fear in her eyes but still forced herself to stay calm.
“G–Greg, what’s this about? Why did you bring me here?”
“Is this what you did to Anathea?”
Gregory’s voice was slow and calm. It was a question, but his tone made it clear it wasn’t one.
Natalie froze. A flicker of guilt flashed in her eyes, but she quickly shook her head. “I don’t know what you’re talking about—”
Before she could finish, two more people were dragged into the hall and thrown at her feet like trash.
Natalie flinched in horror because these two had been beaten so badly they were barely recognizable.

But even through the bruises and blood, she could still tell who they were. These were the very men she had hired to drag. Anathea up to the attic.
So Gregory knew everything. Now he was here to settle the score.
Overwhelmed by a wave of fear, Natalie’s body began to tremble uncontrollably.
“Don’t worry. I don’t hit women,” Gregory said flatly.
Only then did some of the tension leave Natalie’s body.
“But I’ll make you experience whatever you did to Anathea twice as liard.” Gregory’s voice was cold and emotionless, but the words landed like a hammer on Natalie’s chest.
“I–I didn’t do anything!” she shouted, shaking her head in denial I don’t even know these two! Whatever they said, they were lying! They’re framing me!”
She bet there was no surveillance in that attic. As long as she kept denying it, there was nothing Gregory could do.

But the next second, Gregory pulled out Anathea’s recording pen and pressed play.
After a faint static crackle, Natalie’s voice came through.
“Today’s the family head succession ceremony. Do you think the Sinclairs would ever forgive you if you, the one they all despise, pushed me down the stairs?
“Your very existence is a mistake. The fact that I even found a use for you should be considered an honor…”
