Dominic left Anathea’s ward as the evening was settling in
At that moment, Louie and Adrian were just coming out of Gregory’s ward, and the three of them happened to cross paths.
Adrian greeted Dominic first. “Mr. Lancaster.”
Dominic nodded, then turned to Louie with a brief instruction. “Please take good care of Ms. Jacobson.”
Louie looked puzzled. But before he could ask more, Dominic had already strode off.
“Was he telling me to take care of Anathea?” Louie blinked, confused. “On what grounds is he saying that to me?”
Adrian shook his head. He wasn’t sure either. As far as he knew, Anathea and Dominic weren’t exactly close.
Now that Dominic had donated blood and successfully renewed the partnership with Sinclair Group, he had no reason to come back.
“That’s weird,” Adrian said, watching Dominic’s retreating figure.
“Of course it’s weird,” Louie muttered with his arms crossed. “Anathea and Dominic barely know each other. How would they even have anything to talk about?”
Suddenly, Louie’s face turned serious as if he had just thought of something. He glanced at Adrian and said in a solemn tone, “Has Anathea been cheating on
“Oh, shut up,” Adrian cut him off helplessly. “Your imagination runs wild. I think you’re just too bored-”
“Hey, don’t say that!” Louie hurriedly stopped Adrian.
But it was too late.
“Dr. Anderson, we’ve got an emergency! Please come now!” a nurse’s voice suddenly called out.
“Oh, God!” Louie groaned, slapping his forehead.
He rushed over and caught sight of a familiar figure being helped down from an ambulance.
Louie stopped mid–step. His eyes flashed with a strange emotion. “Where are you hurt?”
Giselle didn’t expect the doctor who had come over would be Louie, but her expression remained calm. “It’s not me. It’s him.”
She pointed to the man being carried off the ambulance.
“Fuck, it hurts so much…” The man, Wyatt Collins, let out a low groan. His lower body was covered by a blanket. His face was twisted in pain, though there were no visible injuries on him.
“What happened?” Louie frowned.
“Something’s stuck,” Giselle answered, looking uneasy. “Down there.”
Louie’s face instantly changed. He pulled back the blanket and nearly fainted when he saw where the small bottle
was stuck.
“What’s your relationship with the patient?” Louie asked.
Giselle hesitated. “He’s my boyfriend.”

Louie instantly lost it. “Giselle! What the hell are you trying to do to me?”

“What do you mean?” Giselle frowned, clearly annoyed. “What kind of question is that? What are we to each other, anyway? What I do is none of your business. Who are you to yell at me like that?”
Louie was speechless, overwhelmed by the round of questions she’d fired at him. His eyes started to turn red and water uncontrollably again.
“Doctor, please save me first,” Wyatt begged Louie.
“Damn it!” Louie clenched his teeth, holding back tears. When would he stop getting so emotional every time he saw Giselle?
Wyatt was puzzled by Louie’s words. He quickly grabbed Louie’s hand. “Doctor, will I lose it? You have to save me! My whole future depends on you!”
Louie clenched his fist tightly.
“Shut up,” Giselle warned coldly.
Wyatt sulked but kept staring hopefully at Louie.
After taking a deep breath, Louie instructed the nurse, “Take him to the consultation room and call Dr. Walters.” “Got it.” The nurse quickly wheeled Wyatt away.
In the consultation room, Louie and two other doctors began treatment.
“Ouch! Ouch! Be gentle!” Wyatt wailed dramatically.
“Bear with it,” Tyler Walters said, holding a cutter.
The moment the cutter touched the bottle, Wyatt started squirming uncontrollably. “Doctor, your hands better not shake. I won’t spare you if you hurt me. I’ve got connections all over this hospital!”
