Chapter 475
“The Watson residence,” Gregory and Adrian said in unison.
Louie went still, then cut a surprised look at Gregory. “What, you guessed it again?”
“Harvey hired the guy who ran Adam down with his car, but the money went into the Watsons‘ account,” Gregory replied, his gaze darkening dangerously.
“The Watsons based in Syntherra, huh…” Louie considered this information. “Are we talking about the Watsons who have an upcoming marriage alliance with the Lancasters, the wealthiest family in Syntherra? Isn’t Dominic set to marry Shirley soon?” “I heard the wedding was pushed back again,” Adrian pointed out Because the long–lost eldest daughter of the Lancaster family has returned, and her parents are caught up in throwing her a homecoming party.
“They even sent out invitations. It’s going to be an even bigger celebration than when Dominic and Shirley got engaged.”
“The eldest daughter of the Lancaster family?” Amusement glinted in Louie’s eyes. “The one who was supposedly betrothed to Theo since they were kids?”
“Yeah. Theo’s pretty upset about her return. He locked himself up in his room, whining to anyone who would listen that if the absurd engagement isn’t called off, he’ll starve himself to death in protest.” Adrian sounded like he was trying not to laugh.
Louie made no such effort, sputtering as he said, “I bet he’s already stuffed food under his bed way ahead of time. His protests are just for show! Isn’t that always the case with him?” He followed up with a laugh.
“What’s your take on this, Greg?” Adrian asked when he realized it had been some time since Gregory spoke.
“I think it’s childish.” With that, Gregory ended the call and returned to his room.
The next morning, Anathea woke up pressing her aching temples, a low groan of pain escaping her. Hangover headaches were
the worst.
At that moment, her phone rang.
.
She felt for her phone blindly and answered the call. Her voice was hoarse with sleep as she greeted the caller, “Hello?”
“Still in bed, huh?” Evangeline’s voice was equally hoarse on the other line.
“What’s up?”
“Did you forget you were supposed to meet Ms. Doyle and her fiance at 10:30 am today to go over the floral arrangement details for their wedding?”
“No, I remember.” Anathea rubbed her bleary eyes and glanced out the window at the sky beyond. The sun hadn’t even broken through the clouds yet. She eased back under the covers, luxuriating at the prospect of sleeping in, and muttered, “But it’s still dark outside, isn’t it?”
There was a pause, then Evangeline said, “Did you ever consider that the sky might be overcast this morning? It’s already ten, you know.”
Anathea’s addled mind cleared immediately when she heard this. She checked the time on her phone, and when she realized it was 10:01 am, she bolted upright. Nothing good ever came from drinking!
Nonetheless, she got out of bed and got ready as quickly as possible. After that, she and Lena hurried to the place she’d agreed to meet with Juliana and her fiance.
Fortunately, Anathea got there at 10:28 am. Her gait was confident as she strolled into the court, but she narrowed her eyes dubiously when she saw the figure playing tennis with Emory Smith, Juliana’s fiance.
Lena’s face darkened. “Isn’t that Mr. Wilson? What is he doing here?”

It seemed they would be joined by an unwanted guest today- Frederick Wilson.
“Ms. Jacobson, fancy running into you here!” Frederick smiled.
Frederick was the general manager of Leia Group and Wesley’s right–hand man. Although Wesley had stepped down as the CEO of Leia Group, Frederick remained standing.
He’d also voted against Leia Group’s collaboration with Eden Studio, hence their current grudge.
The atmosphere shifted when Anathea and Frederick locked gazes The latter served Emory first out of courtesy before turning to smile at Anathea.
“You look like the wind could knock you right over. What, did a skinny little thing like you come to try your hand at tennis today?
Anathea ignored his jab and walked right up to Emory. “Mr. Smith I’m here to go through the floral arrangement and decoration details for your upcoming wedding with Ms. Doyle.”
“Oh, yes. Juliana had to attend an interview at the last minute, so she left the decision–making to me.”
Emory didn’t even glance at Anathea as he returned Frederick’s serve. It was a hard serve, and Emory ended up hitting a high
ball.
It was a great chance for Frederick to smash, but he swung and struck thin air instead. The tennis ball hit the court, signaling Emory’s win. “You’re a great player, Mr. Smith! I couldn’t receive that last ball at all!”
Buttered up by the praise, Emory turned the tennis racket in his grip and said with some excitement, “Let’s do another round!” And just like that, Anathea was left on the sidelines.
