“Nat, you forgot your wristband!” Lena shouted.
Anathea glanced at Lena, who was packing up the leftover breakta from the table.
“We should bring the food back,” Lena said.
“Didn’t you say it wasn’t good?” Anathea asked, raising her brows
“Yeah, but we can’t waste good.” Lena grinned. “Let’s go, Nat.”

Anathea nodded slightly, then looked toward the door. The figure that was just there a few moments ago was now gone.
At the same time, Thomas had gotten out of the car and was waving at Anathea
“Ms. Jacobsons, over here!”
“Coming.” Anathea walked straight over.
Thomas drove the car away.
Meanwhile, the figure, who had stood at the doorway, was now behind the floor–to–ceiling window. His eyes were fixed in the direction of the departing car.
Even as it vanished around the corner, he never looked away.
“Why didn’t you say anything? She was right in front of you. Why didn’t you take off your sunglasses and say hi?” Louie asked lazily.
Gregory took off his sunglasses, a trace of gloom flickering in his eyes.
“She didn’t give me the chance to say hi.”
Anathea had looked distant, as if she hadn’t recognized him at all. It had only been three months. He was just wearing sunglasses. Had she already forgotten him?
Sadness passed through Gregory’s eyes.
Louie rolled his eyes at Gregory. “Even so, you could have spoken up first. And you slipped away so fast. You were clearly the one too scared to face her.”
Gregory’s lips twitched slightly, then he suddenly coughed uncontrollably. It took a while before he managed to recover.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Still pretending, huh?” Louie clicked his tongue in annoyance.
Gregory’s coughing was due to lung damage from internal injuries. Although he had undergone surgery and wasn’t coughing up blood anymore, he was still in recovery. It was normal for him to cough occasionally. He just needed to follow his treatment plan and get enough rest to fully heal.
But Gregory had barely had surgery before he threw himself into working nonstop again.
If Louie hadn’t forced Gregory to stop by literally strapping him into a wheelchair and dragging him away, Gregory probably would’ve worked himself into the ground.
“I’m a doctor, so you’re going to do as I say. Keep pushing yourself and I will get rough with you,” Louie warned, shoving a tennis racket into Gregory’s hand.
“No more work. Go exercise. Build your strength back up.”
“Fine.” Gregory turned the racket in his hand. “Let’s play a couple of rounds.”

“I’ll crush you,” Louie said, warming up confidently. “You’d better give it your best. Don’t complain that I’m bullying a patient fresh out of surgery.”
A faint smile curved Gregory’s lips. “Don’t worry.”
Louie rotated his wrist, itching to start. “You’ve crushed me for years. I’m finally getting my dignity back.”
However, once they started, Gregory didn’t hold back at all–he was all backhand crosscourt angles, disguised drop shots, feinted approaches, sharp volleys at the net, and sudden changes of pace.
Louie was left frozen in place.
“Gregory!”
After picking up the ball again, Louie finally lost it and swore, “Do you have any sense of sportsmanship?”
It was impossible to guard against all those feints.
“You were the one who told me to give it my best.” Gregory shrugged innocently. Then, he asked with a straight face, “Can you seriously not even beat a patient recovering from a serious illness?
“Damn it! I give up!” Louie stomped his foot in frustration.
Gregory patted him on the shoulder. “You suck. Practice more.”
At the wedding venue, Anathea was directing the staff. “Move those flowers to the other side. We need to be more consistent with the style.”
“They flew in all these fresh flowers just for the decorations. An international celebrity’s wedding really is on a different level. It’s absolutely stunning to see 200 thousand white roses,” Lena remarked enviously.
Evangeline laughed, hooking an arm around Lena’s shoulder. “Don’t worry. Once we’re done with this event, I’ll make sure you get the same kind of flower setup at your own wedding.”
“Really?” Lena’s eyes lit up but quickly dimmed. “Evangeline, don’t tease me. I don’t even have a boyfriend. Who knows how long it will be before I have my own wedding? Why don’t you do it on my birthday instead?”
