Chapter 488
Gregory froze for a moment, and Louie raised his hand to point at the figure standing in front of Anathea in the distance. “If I’m not mistaken, that’s Anathea’s assistant, right? I think his name is Thomas.”
Gregory didn’t speak. His gaze fell on the two people standing unusually close to each other, and he narrowed his eyes slightly.
“It’s so cold. Why did the temperature suddenly drop?” Louie rubbed his arms and quietly moved away from Gregory. “If you’re not interested, then just stay here. I’m going first, okay?”
With that, Louie immediately went on the dance floor.
A figure wearing a cool–toned mask appeared in his line of sight. Louie paused and glanced at the woman who had just appeared in front of him.
She had long, golden, wavy hair. The delicate mask revealed a pair of beautiful dark green eyes that were shimmering under the lights. She was a typical beauty.
The woman was also observing him.
Meanwhile, the sound of a melodious violin began to play. Louie didn’t think too much and extended his hand toward the lady.
She naturally placed her hand in his palm, and the two quickly blended into the crowd, dancing gracefully in the center of the dance floor.
Evangeline also excitedly urged Lena to put on the mask so they could go to the dance floor.
Holding a wine glass, Anathea took a sip.
“Ms. Jacobson, may I invite you to dance?” Thomas asked, smiling,
“Me?” Anathea was a little surprised.
But she still refused, “I have work to do. You can go dance with Evangeline and Lena.”
“You can’t waste such a joyful moment on work,” Thomas said, handing Anathea a mask.
“Why don’t you enjoy it a little just this once, Ms. Jacobson? After all, ever since you arrived here, you’ve been busy with the competition and work. You haven’t really taken a proper break.”
Anathea hesitated for a few seconds. Seeing Evangeline and Lena dancing happily on the dance floor, she wavered a little.
“Go on. You deserve to relax,” Olivia uttered smilingly.
Only then did Anathea nod and accept the mask. “I’ll touch up my makeup in the restroom first.”
“Alright. I’ll wait for you outside.” The smile in Thomas‘ eyes deepened.
He put on his mask and waited at the closest spot to Anathea. As soon as she came out, he immediately stepped forward and held out his hand to invite her to dance.
Anathea touched up her lipstick and base makeup before putting on the mask. Then, she walked out of the restroom, looking around for Thomas.
But the venue was full of masked people, making it hard for her to tell which one was Thomas.
“Nat, come on!” Evangeline, who was dancing with a tall foreign man, waved at Anathea.
Anathea looked a little reserved, but Evangeline had already come over and pulled her into the crowd.
Seeing this, Thomas quickly approached Anathea and extended his hand.
Anathea didn’t recognize who the person was, but she still gave a curtsy and reached out her hand.

However, just as she was about to touch the man’s hand, a tall and slender figure suddenly stepped in from the side. A well- defined hand reached over Thomas‘ head and took hold of Anathea’s hand.
Anathea was momentarily stunned. The man spun her around once before grasping her right hand with his left and wrapping his right arm around her waist.
They started waltzing.
“Are you… Thomas?” Anathea asked tentatively.
The man didn’t reply. He simply held her hand and slowly danced the sound of the violin.
Anathea assumed he was just trying to act mysterious, so she didnt think much of it, choosing instead to match his steps.
She hadn’t expected that Thomas, who usually didn’t seem like someone who could dance, would be so skilled at the waltz. But there was something about the man’s steps and figure that felt strangely familiar.
As she danced, Anathea kept her eyes on the person in front of her moving with him as they spun and dipped. He supported her waist firmly, guiding her toward the center of the dance floor.
