Right after Hannah said that, her phone rang.
“Who is it? What a buzzkill.” Hannali frowned. However, when she saw that it was Emily Garcia, Chloe’s homeroom teacher, her expression changed for a moment.
Anathea didn’t hear what Emily said on the other end of the line, but Hannah’s expression turned serious. “Okay, I understand. I’ll come over right away.”
“What happened?” Anathea asked with concern.
“Chloe got into a fight with another kid and hurt the kid’s chin.”
Anathea froze for a moment, a bit surprised.
Even though Chloe usually came off like a spunky, sweet–yet–cool little girl, she was actually very well–behaved. She never picked fights, let alone got into one.
“Sorry, Thea. Looks like we can’t hang out, after all,” Hannah said apologetically. She had to rush to the school to handle the situation.
“I’ll come with you,” Anathea responded as she looked at Hannah’s anxious expression. She patted Hannah’s shoulder and reassured her, “Don’t worry. I know Chloe. She’s not the type to cause trouble. I’m sure it’ll get resolved.”
Hannah nodded.
In the office at school, Chloe was clenching her fingers, with two scratched lines on her fair face.
But Emily wasn’t paying attention to her. Instead, she bent down to check on the other child beside her.
“Samuel, does your chin still hurt?”
“It hurts so bad!” Samuel Watson turned his head away.
“I’ll help you treat the wound first, okay?”
“No!” Samuel angrily pointed at Chloe. “I want you to punish her really hard!”
Emily looked a bit troubled at those words. After all, the children who could attend this school all came from powerful families. She couldn’t afford to offend any of them.
But when Samuel didn’t get a response, he started crying and shouting, “I don’t care! I want her to be punished!”
“Sam!”
Just then, a woman’s voice came through.
Shirley, dressed in a black Dior dress adorned with white pearls on sheer fabric, strode over in high heels.
Only then did Samuel stop crying. He threw himself into Shirley’s arms. “Aunt Shirley, you’re finally here! If you didn’t come, she would’ve bullied me even more! Look, she hurt my chin!”
He lifted his face to show the bleeding wound to Shirley.
Shirley’s brows instantly furrowed. “What happened?”
“It was her! She hurt me!” Samuel cried to Shirley, pointing at Chloe. “Aunt Shirley, you have to stand up for me!”

“A small conflict?” Shirley sneered and pointed at the wound on Sanuel’s face. “You call this a small conflict? You know, my family is a shareholder of this school. If you can’t handle this properly, then pack your things and leave with that child!”
At those words, Emily instantly became afraid, but she still forced herself to speak. “Since this is Chloe’s fault, would it be okay to just have her apologize to Samuel and admit her mistake?”
Samuel rolled his eyes.
“Sure.” He pointed at Chloe. “But I want her on her knees as she does that!”
