“You still dare to deny it? If you didn’t steal the necklace, then wirs it in your hands?”
At her words, Anathea merely curled her lips and turned her gaze to the maid hiding behind the crowd. “Are you planning, to keep hiding forever?” she asked coldly.
The maid, Lisa Parker, froze for a second before slowly stepping forward with her head lowered. “M–Mrs. Lancaster…“.
“What exactly happened?” Grace questioned sternly.

“I… I…” Lisa twisted her fingers nervously. Just as she was about to speak, her eyes met Shirley’s murderous glare, and she immediately started trembling, unable to form a single coherent sentence.
Hannah wasn’t about to coddle Lisa as she spoke up. “If you won’t talk, then I will!”
“I never touched Shirley’s necklace.” She raised her voice slightly facing the surrounding crowd. “As for how it ended up with us, Lisa here knocked over my belongings and pretended to help pick them up, but that was when she slipped the necklace into my bag, trying to frame me for stealing!”
Her words caused an uproar.
Hannah took out her phone and played the video she had recorded.
Those who had previously accused and doubted her quickly changed their stance, now expressing outrage and sympathy.
“Oh my god, if Ms. Cole hadn’t noticed in time, she’d never be able to clear her name!”
“This is absolutely disgusting!”
But Hannah didn’t care what those fickle, two–faced people thought. Instead, she turned to Anathea, looking at her in gratitude. Had it not been for Anathea, Hannah would’ve ended up in a mess this time.
Back in the restroom, Hannah had just cleaned the cream off her dress when. Shirley had left a step ahead of her, and right before exiting, she had deliberately opened her handbag, leaving it obviously rummaged through.
At the time, Hannah didn’t think much of it. She left the restroom after finishing up.
Just as she was crossing the hallway on her way back to the party venue, someone suddenly ran into her. It was Lisa, the same maid who had gotten cake on her dress earlier.
With a loud clatter, the contents of Hannah’s handbag spilled all over the floor.
“I’m so sorry! I wasn’t watching where I was going!” Lisa apologized repeatedly. “I–I just thought I’d bring you a hair dryer to help dry your dress. I really didn’t mean to bump into you!”
Seeing that she was indeed holding a hair dryer, Hannah couldn’t bring herself to blame Lisa. After all, this was the Lancaster residence. There was no need to stir up trouble.
“It’s fine,” said Hannah.
Just as she was about to bend down to pick up her things, Lisa crouched first. “I’m the one who ran into you, Ms. Cole. Please let me make it up to you by helping you pick them up. If not, I might lose my job.”
Hannah paused briefly, then gave a small nod.
“Thank you, Ms. Cole!” Lisa’s face lit up with gratitude as she immediately began picking up Hannah’s things one by one.
Hannah patiently waited until Lisa retrieved the last item.
Holding Hannah’s stuff with both arms, Lisa stepped in front of Hannah, saying respectfully. “Ms. Cole, I’ve picked everything up. I’ll put them back in your bag for you.”

“Thanks, then.” Hannah handed her handbag over.
Lisa quickly packed everything back into the bag before glancing at Hannah cautiously, handing the bag back to Hannah.
“I’ll get going now, then.”
“Wait!”
The next second, Anathea’s voice rang out as she grabbed Lisa’s wrist. “Are you going to take it out yourself, or do I have to drag it out of you?”
“What’s wrong?” Hannah looked confused.
Lisa froze for a moment, then quickly reacted. Confusion filled her face as she shook her head. “I–I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“You don’t?”
Anathea let out a short laugh and pulled out her phone. On the screen was a video, showing how, while helping Hannah pick up her things, Lisa had used the chance to sneak the diamond necklace hidden in her sleeve into Hannah’s bag along with the other
items.
