Chapter 559
“You’re not to be trusted,” Anathea said calmly after catching her Breath.
He was the one who’d worn down her trust in him again and again yet now he had the nerve to question why she didn’t believe in him.
Gregory lowered his gaze and said nothing. The room fell silent for a moment.
Soon after, the attendant brought in a new tennis outfit. This one was more modest than the one Anathea was wearing, and the color was less flashy.
She was somewhat satisfied and took the clothes into the bathroom to change.
When she saw the frosted glass door facing Gregory, she stiffly said, “Turn around.”
“Don’t you want me to help?” he asked.
She rolled her eyes at him without hesitation. “No.”
“Alright then,” he said obediently and turned his back like a proper gentleman.
Only then did Anathea step into the bathroom.
The clothes were tight. Putting them on was a struggle, and taking them off was even harder. Anathea struggled for nearly ten minutes trying to get the dress off but only ended up exhausted and sweating.
“This is ridiculous,” she muttered, biting her lip and giving it one last tug.
A loud rip echoed through the bathroom.
She froze, immediately easing up.
She never expected that one day she would be bested by a single garment. Truly, it was a significant misstep.
She took a deep breath and wrapped herself in a towel. After cracking open the bathroom door to peek outside, she saw no one.
Had Gregory left?
She frowned. He would always cling to her when he shouldn’t, then vanish when she actually needed him.
She decided to try again on her own or maybe call for a female attendant to help.
Just as she pushed the bathroom door wide open, a tall figure suddenly stepped in.
Her eyes widened for a split second before Gregory wrapped his arm around her waist. His warm breath brushed against her cheek as he said, “Do you need my help this time?”
“Where did you come from?” she asked, startled.
“That’s not important,” he said, staring deeply at her. “I could tell you were thinking about me.”
“That’s utter nonsense,” Anathea muttered, shooting him a sharp look.
She had no idea when he became so thick–skinned. He hadn’t always been this way.
However, the top was still stuck halfway off her body, making it hard to breathe.
“Do you want me to help?” Gregory asked, leaning toward her.
Anathea nodded reluctantly. In an instant, his large hands glided over her waist.
She tensed and gave him a sharp look. “Just help me get this off. Put your hands where they’re supposed to be.”

For once, Gregory behaved. He helped her out of the stuck top without another word.
But when her body appeared before him, clad only in lingerie, his breath hitched’slightly.
Before she could react, he grabbed her top with one hand and cupped her chin with the other, leaning in for a kiss.
Anathea seemed to expect it. Her knee jerked up just in time, forcing him to instinctively dodge.
“Anathea, you repay kindness with betrayal,” Gregory said with a town.
“That’s called strategy,” she smirked, pushing him out. “I don’t need you now. Go,”
“You’re downright ruthless,” Gregory muttered, glancing back at her.
He felt used and cast aside, like a mere tool–though even tools weren’t discarded this effortlessly:
“Thanks for the compliment,” she said with a smile, shutting the door firmly behind her.
She changed into a proper outfit and touched up her makeup in the mirror.
Outside, all was quiet. Gregory must have stormed off, fed up with being outsmarted again. Anathea didn’t mind. In fact, thinking about his flustered expression lifted her mood unexpectedly.
Just as she gathered her things and opened the door to leave, she felt a sudden tug on her wrist.
Before she could react, she was pulled forward, and his warm lips crashed down on hers.
