Anathea’s eyes went wide. Before she could react, someone grabbed her wrist and yanked her back. Were these two people working together?
Her heart skipped a beat, and panic surged through her. She immediately started struggling. “Let go of me!”

Anathea froze.
That voice sounded way too familiar.
She looked up.
Under the faint moonlight, the man’s face was mostly hidden by a mask and cap, but Anathea recognized those deep–set eyes and that subtle cedarwood scent clinging to him.
For the first time ever, Anathea found that scent comforting. Her eyes burned, either from fear or sheer relief. “You jerk! Would it kill you to say something first? I nearly had a heart attack!”
“Sorry…” Gregory’s voice was hoarse as he apologized. But the moment he looked up and saw the flasher still standing there, his gaze turned sharp and cold.
“What’s going on?” Anathea wanted to turn around.
However, Gregory gently cradled the back of her head, stopping her. “Don’t look at that filthy thing.”
He let her go then and said softly, “Stay here and wait for me.”
Then he turned and strode toward the man.
The flasher immediately sensed the powerful presence radiating from Gregory. The moment he saw the killing intent in Gregory’s eyes, he panicked. He yanked his pants up and tried to bolt.
But Gregory didn’t give him the chance. In a flash, he cut off the flasher’s escape and grabbed his arm before he could even blink. In one clean motion, he flipped the flasher over his shoulder
The flasher hit the ground hard and yelped in pain. He scrambled, trying to crawl away.
Gregory wasn’t’done. He stepped down right between the flasher’s legs.
“Fuck!” the flasher screamed while grabbing at Gregory’s ankle. His whole body trembling as he begged, “I–I’m sorry! Please
let me go!”
“If you ever flash anyone again, I’ll make sure that thing’s gone for good.” Gregory’s voice was icy as he kicked the flasher aside.
The man yelped as Gregory’s foot landed squarely on his backside. However, he didn’t dare stick around. Clutching his rear, he limped away as fast as he could, terrified that Gregory might actually cripple him if he were even a second slower.
After dealing with the man, Gregory turned around, only to find Anathea watching him. At some point, sh
rned to face him.
“I thought I said don’t move and don’t look,” he said, exasperated
“It’s not like I’ve never seen that before.” Anathea smirked.
Gregory paused before saying stiffly, “Still. That was someone else s.”
“So? Does it make a difference?” She raised an eyebrow.

He was momentarily speechless. This woman really knew how to sont him up every single time.

And with that, Gregory closed the distance between them and pulled her into a hug. His voice was low and possessive as he said, “You can only look at mine.”
The next second, Anathea pulled out a black object–about the length of a pen but thicker–and pressed it against his lower abdomen, just a few inches from where he’d been talking about.
Gregory froze. He recognized that object instantly. It was a self–defense stun gun.
Instantly, there was a flicker of movement in the shadows. Someone had their eyes on Anathea, and not in a friendly way. Gregory caught it instantly. His gaze snapped toward the darkness, sharp and cold.
Only after catching his warning glare did the bodyguards quietly back off, not daring to make a move.
Gregory turned his eyes back to Anathea. His chest rose with a deep breath. “Seriously? You’re using a self–defense weapon on me?”
“I only use it on perverts,” Anathea replied, casting a pointed glance at the hand still wrapped around her waist. “Mind letting go?”
As she spoke, she pulled something else from her pocket. It looked like a pistol, but it was just a pepper spray gun. One shot to the eyes and he would be out of commission for hours.
Exasperated, Gregory finally let go. “You really came armed for war.”
“How else was I supposed to feel safe coming out here alone?”
