“Wait, please!” Roy panicked, his voice breaking as terror gripped him. “I’ll talk! I’ll tell you everything!”
But before he could say another word, a sharp bang rang through the air. Blood splattered across Anathea’s shirt.
“Watch out!” Gregory pulled her into his arms.
Anathea’s eyes widened in shock. Right in front of her, a bullet tore through Roy’s chest, leaving a gaping, bloody hole where his heart should’ve been.
He opened his mouth, as if trying to say something, but no words come. With his eyes still open, he took his last breath. Anathea could barely breathe.
“Don’t look.” Gregory quickly shielded her from the sight.
Around them, Gregory’s bodyguards surged forward, forming a tight circle around the two of them.
“Mr. Sinclair, Mrs. Sinclair, please get into the car now!”
Gregory scooped Anathea into his arms and rushed her into the armored vehicle. He felt her trembling and held her even closer. “Annie, it’s okay. Don’t be scared.”
“Roy was silenced…” Her lashes fluttered as she spoke.

After making sure Anathea was home safe, Gregory headed straight for Castenea Central Hospital and walked directly into Adam’s ward.

Adrian paused to think, then picked up a piece and was just about to make his move.
Before he could place it, Gregory stepped forward and took the piece from his hand. “Place it here.”

At the Sinclair residence, Eleanor led a tall, lean man into the private chapel and bowed to the man seated at the head. “Lennox, my son took care of Roy. There’s no one left to expose you now. Don’t you think it’s time to honor your promise and remove the family head, who has no blood ties to the Sinclairs?”
