He was trained in combat and had brought more than a dozen bodyguards with him. The secon they stepped in, they took complete control of the situation.
Micah and Lana’s guests started screaming and tried to resist, but anyone who fought back wa: taken down within seconds.
Asher rushed over and scooped me up from the floor. His arms trembled as he held me, hi: voice cracking with emotion. “I’m so sorry. I should’ve come sooner. I should’ve never let you ou of my sight.”
I buried my face in his chest, my nose stinging, my voice hoarse. “How did you find me?”
“I saw someone livestreaming what they were doing to you,” Asher said. “I pulled every string had and tracked this villa down. Took me some time, but I wasn’t going to stop until I found you Don’t worry, baby. As long as I’m around, no one’s gonna lay a finger on you ever again.”
Just then, Micah stormed over, his face twisted in anger. “Who the hell are you? Riley is my fiancée! Keep your hands off her!”
Asher looked at him, disgusted. “You think you deserve her? I’ve put up with your crap for long enough. I know everything you’ve done over the years. Today, I’m teaching you a lesson–for my wife’s sake.”
Then he punched Micah square in the face.
Micah flew backward, crashing to the floor. His head spun as he lay there, dazed.
Half his face swelled up instantly.
Still on the floor, he looked at me with panic in his eyes. “Riley… who is this guy? Did you really get married?”
I didn’t even bother to answer him.
Instead, I walked over to the corner of the room, took down a hidden security camera and handed it to Asher. “Call the cops. This thing recorded everything–how they attacked me and trashed my stuff.”
Asher nodded.
After calling the police, he checked the time and said to his bodyguards, “We’ve got thirty minutes before the cops arrive. Teach them a lesson they won’t forget.”
The bodyguards didn’t hesitate. They started beating the crap out of Micah and his friends.
Micah was tossed into a corner, his face bruised and bloody.
Lana’s makeup was ruined and her wedding dress was shredded. Her son kept screaming and cursing at us until one of the bodyguards picked him up and locked him in the bathroom.
Half an hour later, the police finally showed up.
I handed over the surveillance footage. “Apart from the injuries they inflicted on me, the antiques they broke in that room are worth thirty million.”
Lana’s friends turned pale.
“You’re just trying to squeeze money out of us, don’t you?” one of them shouted.

I pulled out the auction transaction records and said coolly, “Feel free to have it appraised if you don’t believe me.”
The police reviewed the footage right there on the spot. They compared it to the scene and confirmed–almost everyone in that room had taken part in the destruction.
That meant they’d all have to split the bill.
Each person was suddenly neck–deep in millions of dollars of debt.
The panic was immediate.
Some started turning on Micah. “We were just here for your wedding, man! This whole disaster’s on you!”
“Yeah! We only jumped in and hit her because your fiancée asked us to!”
Micah kept his head down, saying nothing.
Someone had the nerve to say, “Micah, shouldn’t you be the one paying all this? I mean, you’re the CEO of a public company, right? Thirty mil’s nothing to you.”
Before Micah could even react, his mother exploded.
“Why should my son pay for this? We’re broke!” she shouted. “CEO? That’s just a title! That whole company actually belongs to Riley’s family!”
Then she suddenly went pale.
She seemed to finally realize what they’d done.
Turning to me, she forced a strained smile. “Riley, honey, let Auntie apologize for what happenec today.”
“I’ll make Micah apologize properly too. Forget Lana–he’ll marry you instead. You two can go get your marriage license today, okay?”
She even added, “Can’t you just let this whole thing go? For me?”
I couldn’t help but laugh. “Is your face worth thirty million, Mrs. Langston?”
She froze.
She looked like she wanted to snap but didn’t dare.
She knew I wasn’t the pushover I used to be. I wasn’t someone she could guilt or manipulate
anymore.
Then I heard someone snarling behind me. “Micah, you told me the company was yours!”
I turned around.
It was Lana.
Her hair was messy, her makeup smudged. She looked like a wreck.
Before I could react, she lunged at Micah, straddled him and started choking him with both hands.
“You lied to me!” she screamed through tears. “You told me you had your own company, millions
in the bank!”
She was completely hysterical, sobbing and shouting.
“You said you were successful and could give me and my son a stable life. You promised I’d be a

rich wife! But it was all a lie! You’re just a loser who married me for money!”
“I was supposed to marry a rich man abroad! I gave all that up for you. And now I have nothing!” Lana looked like she was on the edge of a breakdown.
Micah kicked her off and struggled to his feet. His face was full of disappointment. “You said you didn’t care about money… That you just wanted a complete family for your son…”
Even the police looked disgusted at this point.
They arrested everyone involved and made it clear–if they couldn’t repay the damages, jail time was inevitable.
Micah and his group were hauled away and Asher scooped me into his arms and carried me straight to the hospital.
