“Dr. Ashworth, this concerns your reputation,” Seraphina said with false sympathy. “Regardless of the details, everyone is here now. Why not resolve this matter privately?”
Every word sounded like it was spoken for Aria’s benefit.
But in reality, it was designed to confirm Aria’s “guilt.” Once she agreed to settle privately, the reputation of being “the other woman” would stick to her permanently.
“Why should we settle this privately?”
Aria laughed coldly, her wolf’s courage strengthening her voice. “I’d rather make everything clear while everyone is here, rather than be wrongly accused without even knowing why I’m being treated like a criminal!”
