“Rowan, please don’t tell Professor Morrison about these incidents. I don’t want to worry him. Besides, it’s only a line over month before I leave.”
As soon as she finished speaking, a low voice came from behind her. “Where are you going?”
Aria glanced back to see Kane, who had appeared without warning.
Rowan looked at Kane directly and smiled coolly. “Isn’t Alpha Ravencrest supposed to be with his mate?”
“Mate?”
“Didn’t you publicly confirm that relationship yourself?”
Kane remained impassive, but his amber eyes revealed dangerous depths. “Alpha Sterling arrived just in time to hear everything.”
Rowan smiled without responding, turning his attention to Aria. “Aria, I’m going to visit other patients in the hospital. Take care of yourself.”
Aria nodded. “Of course.”
When Rowan brushed past Kane, the Alpha’s cordial expression gradually disappeared.
Aria glanced at Kane and began to walk away.
As she moved past him, Kane suddenly stepped forward and blocked her path.
Wherever she tried to go, he obstructed her movement.
Aria looked up in confusion. “Alpha Ravencrest, do you need something?”
“What did you mean by those words you said to Rowan?” Kane pulled his coat tighter around himself, his gaze fixed on her face with ominous intensity. “Are you planning to elope with him?”
“Kane, are you losing your mind?”
Aria was genuinely amused, her wolf bristling at his absurd accusation. “Don’t drag Rowan into our affairs.”
She tried to leave, but Kane grabbed her wrist, his face showing clear displeasure. “Say that again.”
Aria shook off his grip. “What? Do these/words make Alpha Ravencrest uncomfortable when they’re app‘
to him?”
Kane clenched his jaw and stared at her without speaking, his wolf prowling restlessly.
She continued with deliberate calm. “But Alpha Ravencrest shouldn’t be affected by anything I say, right? After all, with such a deep relationship between you and Ms. Cross, why would you care about what an outsider like me thinks?”
