“Why Is Dr. Ashworth being called a follower?”
“I don’t know…”
Two nurses on duty at the station were whispering to each other, but when they caught Arta’s cold gaze, they awkwardly returned to their work.
Selena saw this scene, crossed her arms, and laughed mockingly. “What? You finally know shame? If you had known better earlier, why bother with all this pathetic behavior in the first place?”
Aria averted her gaze and said in a flat tone, “Is Ms. Ravencrest here to defend a friend?”
“Dr. Ashworth, you misunderstood. I didn’t know you and Selena knew each other, nor did I expect there to be any conflict between you…” Seraphina distanced herself cleanly, as if she were the innocent victim and Aria was the unreasonable
aggressor.
“Aria, how dare you blame Serà?” Selena pushed Aria away and protectively shielded Seraphina behind her. “When my cousin was forced to separate with Sera, you came running to throw yourself at him and tried to get close to him! Now that Sera has returned to the territory, you’d better stay away from my cousin!”
Several nurses who had been gossiping quietly were shocked to hear this revelation.
“Her cousin? Is she Alpha Ravencrest’s sister?”
“Oh my goddess, Dr. Ashworth actually had a relationship with Alpha Ravencrest.”
“No wonder I always felt something strange between Alpha Ravencrest and Dr. Ashworth, but couldn’t put my finger on it. So they had history?”
“Selena, please stop.” Seraphina grabbed Selena’s arm, looking distressed. “I’m colleagues with Dr. Ashworth. I don’t want you to make things difficult for her because of me. How can she continue working at the hospital after this?”
Selena scoffed and patiently explained, “Sera, you’re too kind–hearted to deal with her! She’s just a desperate follower.”
With that, she continued mocking Aria. “Besides, as long as my cousin continues cooperating with Silverstone Medical Center on equipment projects, with her thick skin, can she really not stay? Wherever my cousin goes, she follows like a mangy dog that can’t be driven away!”
