Kane looked at Jasper, the child was still just a pup who knew nothing. His large hand rested on the boy’s head, his tone softened slightly. “It’s none of your business, but I’m not your daddy. Next time call me Uncle Kane.”
He could understand that Jasper lacked a father figure in his life.
But for some reason, he felt annoyed when he was called “daddy” in front of others just now.
Seraphina clenched her fists, hiding the fury in her eyes behind a mask of concern.

Jasper lowered his head, his eyes filled with disappointment. “I understand…”
After the headmaster left, Seraphina said with grievance, “Kane, I’m sorry, I didn’t expect the headmaster to misunderstand our relationship. Jasper and I have caused you trouble. If this matter is serious, I will change Jasper to another kindergarten.”
Kane rubbed his temples, his wolf agitated for reasons he couldn’t understand. “It’s okay, let it don’t happen again.”

Aria sat at the home bar and drank two glasses of wine, her wolf trying to numb the pain. She was not a big drinker, only occasionally mixing herself two glasses of whiskey in her spare time when the loneliness became too much.
She was suddenly startled by the sound of the door opening, her enhanced senses immediately recognizing Kane’s scent.
Kane walked into the hallway, his suit jacket draped over his elbow, wearing only a gray silk shirt.
He changed his shoes and turned his gaze towards her, his amber eyes assessing. “Have you been drinking?”
Aria came to her senses and calmly said, “I drank some.”
She put down the wine glass, got up and walked past him.
The bright light reflected on her cheeks and delicate skin, the obvious redness visible to his enhanced Alpha vision.
His eyes focused intently. “What’s wrong with your face?”
She was startled, her hand automatically moving to cover the mark.
She couldn’t help but find it ironic in her heart.
When did he start noticing her injuries?
Without waiting for her to answer, Kane’s voice came from behind. “Did your father hit you?”
