Chapter 35
“Sorry.” she spoke instinctively,
That she didn’t look up.
She just distanced herself from him immediately.
The person who had just pulled her she knew it was definitely Kain,
But she decided not to analyze why he did that, determined not to let herself indulge in any more unfounded fares about his intentions.
She couldn’t afford to hope that his actions meant anything more than Allia possessiveness,
Arriving at the conference floor, everyone stepped out of the elevator with visible relief at escaping the tense
Aria didn’t even glance at Kane, keeping pace with Ruwan as they moved toward the registration area.
e atmosphere.
In the spacious conference hall all the seats were arranged with careful attention to pack hierarchy and professional status. Aria found herself seated directly next to Rowan, which felt like a small mercy.
Seraphina’s assigned position was adjacent to Kane’s, a clear indication of her assumed status as his female companion
As for Kane, who wasn’t technically a member of the medical community, his attendance was facilitated by the substantial medical equipment donations he had made to various hospitals and research facilities.
As long as he wanted access to these prestigious gatherings, the influential figures in the medical academic circle would send him invitations without question.
Seraphina turned to look back at Aria’s seating arrangement and observed Aria speaking quietly with R Rowan, their heads best together in what appeared to be intimate conversation.
A cold look flashed in Seraphina’s eyes as she watched the interaction.
“Kane, do you think Dr. Ashworth and Dr. Sterling make a good match?” she asked, her tone carefully modulated to sound casual while she studied Kane’s reaction intently.
Kane was casually scrolling through his phone, his expression unreadable. “Aria isn’t good enough for him.”
Not good enough for Rowan, despite what he said. Seraphina still felt deeply uneasy about Kane’s obvious attention to Aria’s romantic prospects
Arin chatted with Rowan for a few moments when suddenly her phone vibrated with an incoming message
Picking it up, she was startled to see Kane’s name on the screen.
[Have you set your sights on Rowan? Thinking shout finding a new mate and becoming Mrs. Sterling?1
Aria stared at the message, biting her lip involuntarily as her wolf stirred with confusion.
Was he mocking her with that question, or was there something else behind it?
Stall…
Wait! Kane never used to message her for soch trivial matters, especially not about her interactions with other males.
Would Kane actually care if she showed interest in another male?
But this message–why did it sound almost like jealousy
Jealous?
Chanter 35
Was that even possible?
Would he actually experience jealousy over her?
She looked up and glanced in Kane’s direction, only to see him leaning close to Seraphina, apparently playing with a strand of her hair. Seraphina wid saying something to him with a brilliant smile, her eyes gazing at him with fiery, immistakable adoration.
Kane didn’t avoid her intimate gesture, allowing the public display of affection.
The two of them looked exactly like a young couple deeply in love, their chemistry obvious to everyone watching.
Aria stared at the scene, her heart sal aching despite her best efforts to remain detached. The familiar sources rose in her throat, and she simply looked away.
Rowan noticed her sudden change in mood, glanced discretely at Kane and Seraphins, then back at Aria.
His eyes narrowed slightly.
This was becoming quite interesting indeed.
Aria didn’t reply to Kane’s message.
During the conference break, Aria went to the restroom.
“Dr. Ashworth.”
Seraphina appeared at her side as she was taking out her lipstick to touch up her makeup.
“I don’t know why, but I always feel like you have some kind of connection with Kane, Could it be that you’re afraid I’ll worry, so you’re not telling me the truth?
