Chapter 6
Aria’s words darkened Seraphina’s expression.
She put on her gloves and instructed the other doctors, “Start with a craniotomy to relieve pressure and remove as much of the blood clot as possible.”
The anesthesiologist and the assistants were ready.
Seraphina bit her lip, her hybrid nature making her uncomfortable in the high–stress environment. “Should I stay and help?”
“All non–essential personnel, out.” Aria had already seen enough to know Seraphina would be useless in the operating room. “But…”
“Ms. Cross, the patient is in critical condition. You should go reassure the family instead.”
Not a single lead surgeon at Silverstone Medical Center dared to take on this operation. One misstep could ruin their entire
career.
Besides, everyone had noticed Seraphina’s behavior since she entered.
If not for her relationship with Alpha Kane, they would’ve already told her off.
Clenching her fists, Seraphina had no choice but to leave the operating room.
After confirming the brainstem remained undamaged and finding no significant cerebrovascular injuries, Aria and her team spent five hours carefully removing the rebar. Her wolf–enhanced focus and steady hands made what seemed impossible
achievable.
The procedure lasted until evening. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when the patient’s vitals stabilized, Aria’s natural healing energy having guided the surgery.
While other doctors immediately went to update the family, Aria headed to the director’s office, exhaustion weighing on both
her and her wolf.
Marcus was thrilled to hear about the successful operation. “Aria, we owe this to you. Your instincts in there were incredible.”
“It wasn’t just me,” Aria replied. “The team worked well together, and the patient was incredibly lucky. The rebar missed all
critical structures. No one could have saved him otherwise.”
Marcus nodded, then tried to persuade her. “Have you really made up your mind about transferring?”
He knew Aria’s capabilities well. As the youngest lead surgeon and a wolf with natural healing gifts, she was irreplaceable.
Crescent Moon was just a smaller facility with inferior benefits compared to Silverstone. It seemed such a waste for her to give up these advantages.
Aria smiled and shook her head. “My decision is final. But don’t worry, if you ever need my help in the future, I’ll come when

I’m available.”
Seeing her determination, Marcus stopped pressing the matter.
As Aria left the director’s office, she caught Kane’s scent before she saw him striding toward her, his Alpha presence making other wolves in the corridor automatically step aside.
She paused, about to speak, when the man walked right past her, his voice carrying Alpha command. “Dr. Ashworth, I need to talk to you.”
Exhausted after the surgery, her wolf drained from channeling healing energy, Aria followed Kane to the balcony. “What did you want…” she began, her weariness showing.
“Why were you targeting Seraphina in the OR?” he asked abruptly.
