Aria reached out to stop her, but it was too late.
At that moment, the office door was pushed open.
Kane’s gaze immediately fell on Seraphina’s wrist, where blood was flowing from the self inflicted wound, staining her white coat crimson:
He was visibly shocked, quickly stepped forward to push Aria aside, and simultaneously supported Seraphina while tightly covering the bleeding wound on her wrist. “Seraphina!”
Aria was pushed back by his fotce, her waist biting the corner of the desk. A sharp pain shot through her, causing her face to confort momentarily in
agony.
At this moment. Kane only had eyes for Seraphina
Seraphina leaned against him, her face pale as porcelain. “Kane…it’s my fault. I not only almost caused Dr. Ashworth to be in danger, but also got her suspended from work.”
“These incidents have nothing to do with you,” Kane said coldly, lifting Seraphina in his arms. He lifted his gaze to look at Arla with eyes fall of accusation.
“If anything happens to her, you and the Ashworth Pack won’t find peace.”
Kane carried Seraphina toward the door, calling for medical assistance
The crowd that had gathered in the hallway gradually dispersed, leaving only Aria standing alone in the office.
The silence was deafening, causing Aria’s breathing to become labored.
Especially Kane’s indifference and immediate assumption of her guilt–it still wounded her deeply.
Her clenched fist slowly loosened, revealing deep nail marks embedded in her palm, but she no longer felt any pain.
Seraphina’s cut wasn’t very deep, and the bleeding stopped quickly after treatment.
Kane returned to the hospital room, standing at the edge of the bed. “How do you feel?”
“I’m sorry, Kane, I was too impulsive, but I really didn’t want Dr. Ashworth to misunderstand me,” Seraphina said, her face having lost much of its color, making her appear fragile and sympathetic. “I gewainely want to maintain a good working relationship with Dr. Ashworth. I don’t want to leave a bad impression on anyone and end up causing trouble for you”
Kane remained silent for a moment. “You don’t need to worry about these matters.”
