I had mentally prepared myself to run into familiar faces at the banquet.
But I didn’t expect the first people I saw to be my parents.
Tina, who usually went bare-faced, had put on makeup and high heels this time. However, she looked timid and out of place among the crowd.

My mom was kindly fixing her bangs for her.
When she saw me, Tina directly hugged my mom’s arm.
“Mom, look, little sister Lily is here too.”
I thought I had misheard: “What did you call my mom?”
“Oh right, Lily, you don’t know yet. I’ve already acknowledged Auntie as my godmother. We’ve had some misunderstandings and unpleasantness before, but it doesn’t matter. We’re family now!”
Dad looked very pleased. “Tina is such a magnanimous child, she knows how to cherish family. Unlike Lily who grew up with her grandparents. She’s always been rebellious and never close with us.”
“Little sister Lily, this is the engagement invitation for me and Ethan. After thinking it over, I felt it was best to give it to you in person.”
“Who are you calling little sister?” I took the invitation and promptly tossed it in the trash.
“Lily Chen, you’ve gone too far,” Dad glared at me. “Apologize to Tina!”
“This is nothing compared to what’s too far,” I sneered.
“I remember when Tina got together with Ethan, my engagement to him hadn’t even been called off yet. You didn’t ask for my opinion as your real daughter when you made her your goddaughter. To be truly excessive, shouldn’t it be at least to that degree?”
Tina’s eyes welled up with tears:
“Lily, what’s wrong with Ethan and I being in love? You’ve been away from home for so long, Uncle and Auntie had no one to keep them company, so I just helped you fulfill your filial duties. Why do you have to target me like this?”
I was really annoyed by Tina’s constant crying. It was giving me a headache:
“Being in love doesn’t change the fact that you were the other woman. And it wasn’t me who didn’t go home, it was those two who kicked me out, saying they didn’t have a daughter like me. Since you’re so saintly and forgiving, why didn’t you speak up then and say you forgave me?”
With that, I prepared to leave with my wine glass.

Tina seemed to want to follow, but she stepped on my dress and fell flat on her face.
Thankfully I had years of experience walking in high heels and barely managed to keep my balance.
I didn’t fall, but the wine in my glass spilled out, mostly onto Tina.
This fall wasn’t too big or too small – just enough to attract the attention of people nearby.
Ethan and Noah finished their respective conversations and walked over.
Whispers arose from the surrounding crowd:
“It’s Lily Chen again. How many times has she gone after Tina now?”
“That woman is terrifying. She dared to push someone down and pour wine on them in front of everyone. Isn’t this bullying?”
“With such a vicious heart, no wonder Ethan would rather marry the poor and plain Tina than her.”
“What happened?”
“Are you okay?”
Ethan and Noah spoke almost simultaneously, except Ethan was helping Tina up.
While Noah was concerned about me.
“Hubby, my dress is ruined. This was a limited edition, it’ll be hard to buy another one.””
I complained to Noah about the wine stain on my dress.
“As long as you’re not hurt. That brand is releasing a new collection soon, we can buy one then.”
Pop-up comments:
“It’s getting cold, can I warm my hands in Mr. Song’s wallet?”
“In comparison, our villainous couple is so much more normal than the male and female leads over there. The airhead just knows how to cry in a babyish voice, and the ultra-macho guy, facepalm.”
