Chapter 152
Julian sighed. “You must know how to play blackjack at least!”
Eliana shook her head
Julian frowned. “What paines have you played?”
“play scratch–off lottery tickets,” she said.
Julian was speechless.
“Honey, I can vouch she really knows nothing about gambling.” Hi
Hannah whispered in Julian’s ear, giddy. “So we’re sure to win.”
Julian picked the simplest game. “Surely you can bet on big or small with dice?
Cana pretended to think, waiting until she heard Theodore agire through the earpiece before nodding
Just as Julian was about to start, Eliana suddenly asked, “But when rolling the dice, I need everyone to stay quiet so I can listen for the dice.”
The onlookers burst into laughter. “Sweetheart, that’s such a naive trick: You know how hard that is to master? You can’t do
“Just bark like a dog now and get it over with.”
“Or let me touch you, and I do the punishment for you?

The dealer had prepared three dice, showing them to Julian and Eliana. Eliana nervously touched her hair, murmuring to herself, “Three dice, each with six facing up.”
Only she knew she was speaking to Theodore on the phone. He didn’t respond at all. Eliana wondered if he was angry about the humiliating forfeit
The dealer asked, “How many rounds to decide the winner?”
Seeing Julian gesture for her to choose, Eliana said directly, “I hate wasting time. Like the horse race the other day, let’s settle it in one round.”
“Mrs. Russell, you have real guts.” Julian squinted, then told the dealer, “Begin”
The dealer covered the dice cup, shook it, and placed it back. “Big or small?”
the dealer asked.
The onlookers exchanged glances, even swallowing nervously over a game that wasn’t theirs.
Theodore said, “Big “Big” Eliana answered without hesitation. Her instant response made the crowd think she was foolish.
“I think it’s small”
“Me too. She clearly has never been to a casino. Bet the opposite of her–can’t go wrong”
Annoyed by the gamblers‘ whispers, Eliana looked at Julian. He frowned, seeming to calculate meticulously in his mind, which only made her look more
Finally, Julian said slowly, “Small”
The crowd erupted in excitement. “Get your phones out, guys! Record the show!”
“Clear the table for her to crawl on!”

- Eliana snapped. “You’re louder than a flock of turkeys.
The room went sent for a beat before someone thouted, “What did you say?
“Shut up and get out if you keep making that noise,” Julian barked at the man, then told the dealer, “Open 11,”
As the lid lifted, onlookers leaned in to count. “Two, three, six–eleven total. Shit, it is hig

“How could that be?” Hannah shrieked, jolting Julian back to reality. He silenced Hannah with a wave, eyning Elana meaningfully. “You won. Take the money
Hannah seethed. They’d lost a case of gold bats recently, and now a case of cash–enough to buy a house
As bodyguards pushed the case toward Eliana, greedy gamblers eyed her. One man even took out a switchblade and planned to tail her.
Then Theodore said, “Mrs. Russell, drop the money”
Eliana muttered, “What?”
“Do as I say,” he ordered.
His words made her notice the predatory stares. She made up her mind, grabbing a fistful of bills and throwing them into the air.
Instantly, a rain of cash fell. After a two–second pause, people went wild grabbing at the money.
In the chaos, Eliana hoisted the case and kept scattering bills. The money wasn’t hers anyway–she just needed to escape. As she spun to leave, her hair lifted, revealing a flashing Bluetooth earpiece.
Julian realized she’d cheated and ordered his guards to chase her
Bodyguards charged after her, leaving gamblers brawling over the phoney
When Eliana followed the signs to the exit, a huge guard waited to grab her. She smashed the case into his chest, slipping under his arm as falling bills blinded him.
“Catch her!” Julian roared, enraged. No one had ever dared play him for a fool.
But to Julian’s shock, he emerged to see a dozen police cars and hundreds of officers. And the woman he was chasing was now in Theodore’s arms.
Lieutenant Gideon Lee approached. “Mr. Black, we heard there’s a disturbance here–fighting and brawling. Mind if we search the premises!”
if not for Eliana scattering cash all the way, Julian’s casino wouldn’t be in chaos.
Thinking of her Bluetooth earpiece, Julian laughed angrily. Eliana had not only won his money but wrecked his casino. He cursed Theodore in his mind
Seeing Julian glare at Theodore, Gideon said, “Mr. Black?”
“Search and arrest whoever you want. Just got on with it,” Julian snapped, striding toward Theodore and Eliana,
He stared at Eliana, then told Theodore, “You have guts. Eve never seen anyone cheat in front of me before.”
Eliana said proudly, “Maybe other gamblers cheat, and you don’t know. Look, I almost fooled you.”
