Chapter 181
Luke gave everyone a gin. “Manual labor.“
The group erupted in laughter. “Luke, you’re such a jokesdal
Eliana shot hien a quick look. He seems more grounded than before she thought.
Amic was pushed toward her. “Ellie, your turn. Go sing,” a girl urged.
Eliana took the mic without
fuss, queued her song, and started singing.
As she stood, her phone slid from her packet into the couch crease.
The guys watched intently–bet silhouette in the stage light, her delicate profile, even the strands of her hair and every inch of skin. They admired her like a masterpiece.
Soon someone piped up, “Has anyone else noticed? Eliana keeps getting hotter.”
Another said, “Let’s be real, she’s always cute. Just less sexy before.”
A third said, “Hey, Luke, didn’t you say Eliana was super nurturing when you dated?”
Luke popped open a beer, took a sip, and said flatly. “Yeah.”
The guys groaned with envy.
“Ugh, my exes were all high–maintenance. One even smacked me, so I dumped her
“Wish I’d gone for Eliana back then, even if I had to fight Luke.”
“Not happening now. She’s Theodore’s wife. Even if they split, we wouldn’t stand a chance”
“She won’t leave him,” Luke muttered. “Not unless Theodore screws up first. Like he had.
Just then, Eliana’s phone vibrated, but buried in the couch, the ringtone was muffled. Drowned out by the KTV noise, no one noticed.
At Russell Manor, Theodore put down his phone, his brows knitting unconsciously.
“Why isn’t Eliana answering? Could something be wrong?‘ he wondered
The next second, his phone rang.
Expecting a callback from Eliana, he saw an unknown number instead.
Outside NeoPlaza KTV, Jayden was near tears from mosquito bites. Desperate, he called Theodore. “Pick up the phone!”
“Hello.” There came Theodore’s cold voice.
“It’s Jayden.” He rushed out. “Wanna know where your wife is? Get over here now if you do!”
The good times flew by. When Eliana finished another song, it was almost 11 PM.

Using the mic to say goodbye, she let the booth.
A girl spotted her phone stuck in the couch. “Hey, Eliana’s phone fell. Who can take it to her?”
Before anyone could react, Luke grabbed the phone and headed out.
“Eliana!” Luke called out.
She turned as she reached the exit.
Luke caught up, staring at her face. “You left your phone in the booth.”
Eliana took the phone. “Thanks for bringing it. Goodbye, Mr. Graham,”
Mr. Graham?
The title stung Luke. Anyone could call me that, but not her. I’d rather she used my first name,” he thought.
Still, he kept his tone even. “It’s late. Let me drive you home.”
“No need.” Eliana pushed open the door and stopped short. There stood Theodore and Jayden in front of the Rolls–Royce.
One held a cigarette, the other had arms crossed, both stone–faced yet drawing every gaze around them.
Startled, Eliana’s eyes flow open. “When did you two get here?”
Theodore exhaled a smoke ring. “Just now!”
“Three hours ago,” Jayden said, slapping another mosquito dead with a sharp crack.
Three hours ago?
o? That was when she’d left.
“Jayden, did you sneak after me?” she asked.
Jayden scowled. “Sneak? I followed to make sure you were sale since you went out alone.”
Eliana turned to Theodore who was still puffing on his cigarette. “And you, Theodore? Why are you here?”
Theodore looked morose. “Forgot what day it is?”
“Valentine’s Day,” Eliana blurted.
“Ah, so you remember. Spending Valentine’s without your valentine, instead running off…” His voice trailed as a figure pushed through the door.
At the sight, Theodore’s resignation curdled into mockery. “Ah, with an old flame. That makes sense.”
Eliana’s face drained of color.
“Old flame?” Jayden was the only one confused
Stunned, Luke stiffened, then spoke evenly. “Mr. Russell, you’re mistaken. Eliana and are here for a college reunion.”
Theodore shot him a sideways look, half–smiling “Reunion, eh? Same year or same class?”
Luke laltered. “Neither, I’m older than Ellie.”
hen why are you at her reunion if you are the Theodore asked slowly, his tank pressing
Though Theodore’s presence was intimidating, Luke didn’t want Eliana caught in the crossfire. The rest of the group të sillt in the bon belleve me, go check for yourself.”
Theodore’s sharp eyes narrowed, his voice turning deceptively soft. “I’m asking about you. Why drag others into this Guilty conscience
**L* Luke statered.
“Enough, Mr. Graham. You should go.” Eliana cut in. “It’s time for me to go home with my husband.”
Her words made her stance crystal clear,
Luke nodded, forcing a smile, “Goodbye”
“I’m too weak to stand up to Theodore. No wonder I’d lost Ellie, he thought.
After Luke left with a heavy heart, Theodore suddenly tilted Eliana’s chin, his anger barely leashed. “I not worthy of your class reunion?”
“That’s not it.” Eliana thought, ‘Didn’t he have a meeting? Was he supposed to ditch work for me?”
“You even took his side just now,” Theodore said.
Faced with his irritated accusation, Eliana looked confused. “When did I take his side?”
“You told him to leave because you were afraid I’d hurt him,” Theodore said in a gritty voice, whether from wanting to avoid scaring her or from sheer frustration, it was hard to tell.
