Hearing Eliana’s footsteps getting closer, Theodore suddenly lowered his eyes and said mockingly, “Go on, tell me how much did my grandfather i you to get you to marry a blind, broken wreck like me and even say you’re willing to take care of me?”
Eliana was crouching down, rolling up the dirty rug along with the spoiled food.
When she heard him say that, she replied calmly, “I

Sure, their elders had made a verbal agreement, but he and Eliana had never even met before, and there were zero feelings between them.
On top of that, Theodore was now blind. Without a good payoff, he didn’t believe anyone would be willing to marry him.
Eliana stood up with the dirty rug in hand and said, “Sorry, I don’t know.”
She really didn’t know what kind of deal Daniel and Hudson had made in the study.
But Theodore was convinced the Burke family must’ve asked for some outrageous price, and that was why she was too guilty to admit it.

Theodore was speechless. He honestly wanted to rip her head off.
Eliana acted like she didn’t notice the anger on his face. She turned around, stuffed the dirty rug and spoiled food into the trash can, planning to ask Wyatt tomorrow how it should be dealt with.
Then, she picked up the shards of the glass Theodore had thrown at her earlier and tossed them out so they wouldn’t accidentally cut his foot.
After finishing everything, she walked over to Theodore’s bed, waved her hand in front of his eyes, and asked softly, “Mr. Russell, can you really not see?”
Theodore didn’t even blink, but his face looked like he was ready to kill someone.
Eliana quickly pulled her hand back and said sincerely, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you. It’s just that starting tonight, we’ll be living together, and I figured it’s better to ask some things up front.”
Even though Theodore showed no interest in her, he was still a man. She didn’t want to be taken advantage of when she was sound asleep.
When Theodore heard her apology, his terrifying expression froze for just a split second. This was the first time since he went blind that someone acted like pointing out his condition was offensive.
But the moment he remembered Eliana was the kind of woman who’d sell herself for money, he figured everything she was saying now was just for
show.
Theodore scoffed, “You think if you butter me up like this, I’ll get you pregnant so you can run to my grandfather and get a reward for it?”
Eliana thought, ‘What? Getting me pregnant? A reward from his grandfather? Why didn’t my dad mention any of this?‘
While she was still dazed, Theodore gritted his teeth and grumbled, “Don’t waste your time. I’m never having a baby with you.”
That snapped Eliana out of it, and she calmly accepted his words. She replied, “Alright, Mr. Russell. I’ll remember everything you said tonight. If you don’t

With that, she took a modest pair of pajamas from her suitcase and headed for the bathroom.
Even her steps were noticeably lighter than before because as far as she was concerned, she and Theodore didn’t have feelings for each other she re having a baby with him sounded perfect.
