She thought, ‘This isn’t the first time my stomach has hurt. Every time it’s so sudden. If it were something I ate, everyone else at the table should have a stomachache too.‘
Theodore then said, “Hang in there. I’ll call Samuel over.”
Half an hour later, in Anthony’s bedroom. Mindy was speaking to Alice, “Second young mistress, you’ve been feeding Mrs. Russell contraceptive food for over a week straight. Isn’t that enough?”
Alice glanced at her sideways, “You run out of money, right? Just say the amount you want.”
“I’m not asking for your money,” Mindy said anxiously. “I just want to tell you, it’s enough. Mrs. Russell definitely won’t get pregnant anytime soon.”
Alice said coldly, “I don’t want it to be just for a short time. I want it to be forever. Do you understand?”
Mindy said in shock, “You’re terrifying. Mrs. Alice Russell, aren’t you afraid God will punish your unborn child?”
Alice said confidently, “I’m blessed, so is my child. You don’t need to worry about these things.”
Seeing her so obstinate, Mindy suddenly felt more creeped out than when facing Theodore.
In the second–floor room. Samuel stood by the bed and asked, “Mrs. Russell, you say your stomach hurts for no reason?”
Eliana leaned against the headboard and nodded.
Samuel asked again, “When did it start?”
She said, “A week ago.”
“How many times have you felt the pain?” Samuel said.
Eliana replied, “Counting this time, twice in total.”
“Each time it’s more painful than the last?” Samuel asked again and saw her nodding.

Theodore suddenly thought, ‘Is this a sequela from falling into the water at the cruise party last time? If it is, I’m the one who afflicts her so much?‘
“Theodore, don’t overthink.” Eliana then turned to seek help from Samuel. “Dr. Wilson, could you please talk some sense into him?”
Samuel then patted Theodore’s shoulder, and the two walked out of the room into the corridor.
Seeing Theodore reach for a cigarette as soon as he came out, Samuel suddenly felt a twinge of regret. He thought he might as well have kept it from him earlier.
Just then, a person suddenly appeared on the second floor, hesitated, and said to Theodore, “Mr. Russell, about Mrs. Russell’s stomachache, I… I know the reason.”
