Chapter 280
“You can’t stay low–key all the time, it’ll be more convenient for your future shopping.” Theodore said.
After all, Eliana was always dressed in cheap clothes, and he didn’t want anyone here who didn’t know better to upset her.
Just then, the sales manager, who had been informed, hurried over and asked, “Mr. Russell, are you here to inspect the mall?”
Theodore replied coolly, “I’m just here to help my wife pick a lipstick.”
Eliana glanced at him in surprise. “How did he know i actually cared about that lipstick? she wondered.
Theodore met her eyes and said softly, “I know you felt bad about that lipstick, but I didn’t break it on purpose. Let me buy you a new one, okay?”
‘Is he actually apologizing for our argument just now?” Eliana thought to herself.
Meanwhile, the sales manager was stummed for a moment when he realized Theodore’s purpose.
It’s just lipstick if she wants some, we could just box up a whole bunch and send them straight to her, he thought.
But of course, he kept all that to himself and put on his best professional site. “Mrs. Russell, you’d like to buy some lipstick, right? Please
come with me to the qued floor. Our cosmetics section has everything you could possibly want.”
Since Theodore was clearly trying to make amends, Ellawa decided to just go with the flow. “Okay”
On the third floor, in the cosmetics sentans, several salesgirls had already gathered around Eliana, enthusiastically pitching all sorts of luxury
lipstick brands.
Each of them went her fundreds or even thousands a tube, way more than Eliana would ever spend on herself. Now, faced with so many
options, the honestly didn’t know where to start
The salesgirls were sharp, and when they noticed Elvana jest browsing without trying anything, one of them chimed in, “Mrs. Russell, feel free to try on any shade you like. Don’t worry”
Hearing that, Eliana finally reached for one. After the salesgiri skillfully put it on for her, she turned to Theodore and asked, “Theodore, what
do you think of this color
Theodore looked over. The red lipstick made her lips look like a blazing flame—so striking and mesmerizing that he couldn’t tear his eyes away. He even caught himself wondering if a kiss would set him ablaze.
But he went against his true feelings and said, “Not good enough.”
Ellans tried another, a bit helpless. “What about this one?”
Theodore focused on her again. This time, her lips were a soft pink, like a fallen peach blossom. It was so tempting that he wanted to pluck
that bindse, taste is sweetness, and swallow it whole.

But no matter what color she tried, Theodore just looked more and more dissatisfied. The frown between his brows deepened, and the salemparo materby were practically holding their breath, terrified he’d blame them for the wrong suggestions and get them all fired.

Finally, Eliana’s patience was running out. “Theodore, are you actually helping me or just making this harder?” she asked, clearly
exasperated.

Theodore reached out and gently brushed his fingers over her lips, which were already a little raw from all the testing. His voice was low and a bit hoarse. “Honestly, you look the most beautiful with no lipstick at all.”
“Seriously?” Eliana shot him a doubtful look. She knew her lips were naturally pale, and if she didn’t put anything on, she’d just look tired.
Theodore bent down, whispering right in her ear, “Because it’s easier for me to kiss you. I don’t want to end up with lipstick overload and get lead poisoning one day.”
Eliana was speechless. ‘He’s not even trying to help; his mind is just full of dirty thoughts!‘ she grumbled to herself.
She just went ahead and picked the one she liked best. Turning to the salesgirl, she said, “I’ll take this one. Could you please pack it up for
me?”
“Of course, right away!” The salesgirl finally breathed a sigh of relief–looks like she’d get to keep her job after all.
Seeing he couldn’t talk her out of it, Theodore could only sulk inwardly, feeling a bit regretful.
When the lipstick was delicately packed, Eliana had already pulled out her credit card, ready to pay.
But just as she was about to hand it over, Theodore made her look at him, giving her a sly, almost mocking smile. “Trying to pay in my mall, Mrs. Russell? Aren’t you just a little genius.”
Even the salesgirl couldn’t help but laugh. This was their first time meeting their CEO’s wife, and they’d expected her to be difficult and demanding. But she turned out to be adorably clueless and sweet. No wonder Mr. Russell spoiled her rotten.
“Let’s go.” Theodore hooked the gift bag with his pinky from the salesgirl, then reached out with his other hand to take Eliana’s, leading her
away.
“Take care, Mr. Russell,” the salesgirl called out enthusiastically behind them. “Hope to see you again soon, Mrs. Russell.”
But soon, two familiar figures appeared ahead, making her pause in surprise. “Theodore, look.”
Theodore, who’d had all his attention on her, glanced over and saw Anthony shopping for cosmetics with a woman. Surprisingly, that woman was actually Delilah.
Theodore narrowed his eyes. ‘Why are those two together?‘ he wondered.
It didn’t take long for Anthony to spot them. He turned to Delilah, who was still fussing over the cosmetics, and said, “Della, look who just showed up.”
Delilah looked up, and the moment she saw Theodore, her eyes sparkled with delight. “Theodore!”
Theodore watched as Delilah rushed toward him, his handsome face instantly clouding over.
Anthony, trailing behind, didn’t seem bothered at all. In fact, he looked like he was ready to sit back and enjoy the drama.
“Theodore, what a coincidence. I can’t believe I’m running into you here!” Delilah bubbled with excitement.
“Not really a coincidence. This mall is right next to my office,” Theodore said flatly, then turned his gaze to Anthony.
Noticing him loaded down with bags full of lady stuff, Theodore said in a cold voice, “Aren’t you worried Alice will find out about this?”
Anthony smirked faintly. “Are you standing up for her? I get it. Lovers often care about each other, even after breaking up.”

Eliana stared at her toes, and the happiness she’d just regained faded away again.

Theodore looked at Anthony, who was still smiling, and said in a low voice, “I’m just reminding you–playing both sides never ends well.”
Hearing this, Delilah quickly tried to clarify. “Theodore, please don’t get the wrong idea. There’s nothing going on between Anthony and me. I just asked him to-”
Theodore looked at her expressionlessly. “To what?”
Remembering the deal she’d made with Anthony earlier, Delilah bit her lip and swallowed her words. “Nothing.”
“Theodore, we just came over to say hi. I think Della still has a lot of shopping to do, so we’ll be on our way,” Anthony said. After a brief pause, he turned to Delilah and spoke gently, “Let’s go.”
Della cast one last, reluctant look at Theodore before murmuring an obedient “okay.” She knew Anthony would only invite her to his place if she did as he said.
Just then, Theodore’s cold voice rang out from behind. “Alice is carrying your child. Don’t ever forget that.”
“I remember, Theodore,” Anthony replied without even turning around, then led Delilah off to continue shopping.
Eliana turned her gaze away and looked up at Theodore. “Are Anthony and Delilah close?”
Theodore paused for a moment before replying, “Quite the opposite. Delilah’s always looked down on Anthony, ever since they were little. If they’re hanging out together now, they must be up to something.”
