Chapter 284
Chapter 284
Felix looked at Megan in surprise. He’d always thought she was just a pampered starlet, but it turned out she wasn’t afraid of hard work and – practice.
Megan didn’t cry for long. She wiped her tears away, steadied herself against the wall as she stood up, then marched right up to the ringleader of the young men and slapped him hard across the face.
“You!” The guy she hit glared at her, but with Theodore right there, he didn’t even dare lift a finger.
Megan knew she didn’t stand a chance against these people. Even if she called the cops, they’d always find a way to wriggle out of it. She shot them a look of pure disgust and turned away. “Get lost!”
“Hold on,” Theodore said, his voice calm. “She’s not here yet.”
Megan glanced at him, gratitude flickering in her eyes. “Sir, who do you mean?”
Theodore gave a faint, confident smile. “My wife.”
Half an hour later, Eliana came rushing into the shooting range, following the location Theodore had sent her. She saw Megan with a man’s jacket draped over her shoulders and hurried over. “Megan, are you okay?”
Before Theodore could say anything, Megan quickly spoke up for them. “I’m fine, thanks to Mr. Russell and Mr. Yates. They stepped in just in time and helped me out.”
Hearing that, Eliana turned to Theodore and said flatly, “Thank you.”
Theodore narrowed his eyes. ‘She’s still giving me the cold shoulder, huh?‘
Just then, a pleading voice rose up from the ground. “Mr. Russell, um… May we go now?”
These young men had been kneeling on the floor for half an hour–it was downright pitiful. But without Theodore’s permission, none of them dared to make a move.
“Are these the ones who bullied you?” Eliana asked Megan.
“Yeah,” Megan replied angrily. “I was just here practicing on my own, and they kept insisting on coming over to ‘teach‘ me. When I refused, they got physical and even tore my clothes off!”
Eliana’s brows knitted together. “This is disgusting. We have to make sure they’re brought to justice.”
“Don’t worry, Eliana,” Felix said, waving his phone at her. “I’ve already called the cops.”
Eliana noticed Felix only had his shirt on, and realized the jacket Megan was wearing must have been his. “Mr. Yates, thank you for your help,”
she said.
“It’s only right;” Felix replied. Then, noticing Megan looking at him, he added, “After all, she’s your
friend.”
Megan paused for a second, then gently flicked her own forehead. ‘Wow, talk about being full of myself. I actually thought they were here because of me, but really, I’m just lucky to have Eliana on my side.’
But taking that knife for Eliana back in Lunara was totally worth it. If Theodore and the others had just stood by and watched earlier, there’s no way she’d have gotten out of here in one piece tonight.
Chapter 284
“Now that everything’s settled, why don’t we get back to having some fun?” Felix said once things had calmed down. Then in the fact look at the young men. “As for these guys, let’s just have the owner hand them over to the police when they get here?
Megan grabbed Eliana’s hand, her eyes bright with excitement. “Ellie, since you’re already here, why not have some fun with me?”
Eliana wasn’t really in the mood tonight, so she tried to brush it off. “I don’t know how to shoot.”
“I’m not great at it either. At least we’ll have each other for company,” Megan said, then looked over at Theodore. “Right, Mr. Russell?”
Theodore looked at Eliana and took the chance to speak up. “I can teach you if you want.”
But Eliana replied, “Isn’t there a coach here?”
Theodore’s gaze darkened. ‘So even if she wants to learn, she’d rather have anyone but me teach her?”
“Huh?” Megan was surprised by her answer. “Yeah, there is, but I’m worried people might start rumors if I ask a male coach, so I didn’t hire
one. Wouldn’t it be better if Mr. Russell could teach us?”
Eliana pressed her lips together and unexpectedly insisted, “I don’t need his permission. I can make my own choices.”
Megan finally understood–these two were clearly having a spat. She immediately stopped trying to persuade her.
But since Theodore had just helped her out, Megan, being quick on the uptake, decided to help him out in return by trying to keep Eliana around. “Then let’s go get a coach, and he can help you pick out a gun.”
Eliana finally agreed. “Okay.”
Once the two of them were out of sight, Felix and the others immediately started ribbing Theodore.
“Wait, so you two are fighting or something?”
“No wonder you called Eliana before jumping in to save Megan. You just wanted to lure her out, didn’t you?”
“Your wife’s always so sweet–must be something you did to tick her off. If you fess up, maybe we can give you some advice.”
Theodore listened to their teasing, then casually tapped the Browning in his hand, giving them a pointed look. “Just so you know, I’m holding a gun.”
Felix and the others instantly went quiet.
Meanwhile, Megan had already found a coach, who helped Eliana pick out a ladies‘ model handgun. “Since you’re a woman and new to shooting, you probably don’t have much arm strength. This one’s just right for you.”
Eliana took the gun and, before loading any bullets, toyed with it absentmindedly. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of Ashton, who was drinking heavily in the lounge area.
‘What’s he doing here?‘ Eliana wondered.
At that moment, Ashton noticed her too. His drunken, alluring eyes instantly darkened with a vicious, almost predatory intent, a wanted to tear her apart.
In Ashton’s eyes, Eliana was the one who’d helped Harper get away. No wonder he hated her guts.
At the same time, Megan said, “Ellie, let’s go.”
“Yeah,” Eliana replied, pulling her gaze away. ‘There’s really no reason for me to even say hi to Ashton anymore,‘ she thought.

Chapter 284
When Theodore saw the coach standing so close to Eliana, guiding her hand on how to grip the gun, how to stand, and how to aim, he rea lost it. He honestly felt like putting a bullet in the coach right then and there.
“If you can’t stand it, then don’t,” Felix said, egging him on. “Just go snatch her back, What’s the worst that could happen?”
Theodore replied coldly, “If I butt in too much, she’ll get mad.”
Felix chuckled, shaking his head at how clueless Theodore was. “She’s already mad at you, man. What, is she gonna get even madder and explode or something?”
Something finally clicked. Without hesitation, Theodore headed straight for Eliana,
Meanwhile, the coach was still correcting Eliana’s stance when someone suddenly tapped him on the shoulder from behind.
He turned around and, seeing it was Theodore, immediately moved aside without a word.
Theodore took his place behind Eliana, silently placing his hands on her slender shoulders, guiding her into the right position.
The tutoring went on for a while without her noticing.
“Oh, so that’s how it’s done,” Eliana said, nodding as she got the hang of it. “So, can I shoot now?”
Theodore finally spoke up behind her. “Yeah, go ahead and fire.”
Eliana spun around, eyes wide in shock. “Why is it
Theodore narrowed his eyes. “What’s the matter?”
t you?”
Eliana immediately set the gun down. “I don’t want to learn from you.”
As she turned to leave, Theodore caught her wrist, asking in a deep, serious voice, “Ellie, why are you being so unreasonable?”
