Chapter 8
Eliana thought, ‘Mr. Anthony Russell? Didn’t Theodore supposedly broke his leg?
As she was thinking, Wyatt suddenly noticed her and asked, “Mrs. Russell, have you finished feeding Mr. Russell?”
Eliana told a lie. “Not yet. I accidentally spilled the oatmeal, so I came down to ask if there’s anything else to eat in the house
Wyatt replied half–heartedly, “Mr. Anthony Russell is hosting a guest tonight. The kitchen doesn’t have any extra food for Mr. Theodore Russell. You’ll have to figure something out yourself.”
Eliana thought, ‘No extra food? Then what are all those dishes the servants are carrying?”
She pressed her lips together and wanted to say something, but she didn’t have the standing. Even if she spoke up, it probably wouldn’t change anything and might just make things worse between Theodore and Lainey.
Just as she was about to turn and leave, Wyatt added, “If you don’t mind, you could wait until after the guest leaves and bring Mr. Pussell some leftovers. That way, you can say you’ve done your part, and he won’t go hungry.”
Eliana’s eyes went cold. Whether Wyatt was trying to mess with her on purpose or not, if she really brought Theodore leftover scraps, he’d probably smash the plate over her head the next second.
“No need, Wyatt. I’ll figure it out myself,” Eliana said.
Faced with her refusal, Wyatt gave her a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. “Really? I hope so. Just a heads–up–Mr. Daniel Russell is sending a doctor over tomorrow to check on Mr. Theodore Russell.
“If the doctor finds out he’d been starved and reports that back to Mr. Daniel Russell, then don’t blame us servants for not doing our job.”
Eliana thought, ‘Wait a minute. Is he trying to pin this on me?‘
When Eliana returned to Theodore’s door, her head still full of what had just happened, the scene in front of her made her eyes widen in shock.
Jayden, Lainey’s youngest son, was hitting Theodore with pebbles from a slingshot while using his small size to his advantage, darting around nimbly and making faces. “Come on, catch me if you can, you blind freak.”
Theodore, on the other hand, looked like a caged animal–full of fury but being played like a joke.
Just then, a stone smacked right into Theodore’s forehead with a sharp crack, splitting the skin open. Eliana’s heart clenched. Daniel was sending a doctor over tomorrow. If Theodore ended up covered in injuries, she’d be the first to take the blame.
At that thought, she didn’t hesitate before she shouted, “Stop it.”
Jayden turned and scoffed with contempt when he saw it was Eliana, “Who the hell are you to tell me what to do?”
“I’m your sister–in–law,” Eliana said, forcing herself to stay firm. “Now leave our room.”
“Sister–in–law?” Jayden sneered like it was the funniest thing he’d ever heard. He raised his slingshot and pointed it at Theodore from a distance, his young face full of arrogance,
He continued, “I’ve never acknowledged that blind loser as my brother. And you? If Grandpa hadn’t wanted to find some woman to piece of trash company, you think you’d ever get to marry into the Russell family?”
this worthless
Eliana suddenly had the urge to teach him a lesson. She took a deep breath and forced herself to stay patient. “I’ll say it one more time. Please leave.
Jayden’s eyes flicked to the side, then he actually raised one foot like he was going to step out of the room.

Chapter 8
Just as Eliana started to let out a breath, he spun back, raised the slingshot again, and fired a shot draight at Theodore 17.
Eliana’s eyes widened in shock. Jayden stood there with his hands on his hips, laughing, “That’s what he gets for breaking Anthony slag ca
Eliana thought, ‘This brat’s still a kid, but he’s already this vicious?
She couldn’t take it anymore. She strode forward and snatched the slingshot right out of Jayden’s hand.
Jayden panicked for a second and then glared at her. “What are you doing? Give it back.”
