After Felix left, Theodore turned to Eliana with a jealous gaze. “Your company has such an outstanding young male artist?”
Unaware of the danger, Eliana replied instinctively, “Yeah, Raphael is rated as one of the top 100 most handsome male stars in the country.”
Since Raphael was an artist of Starlight Media, Eliana spoke with unconscious pride when mentioning him.
Theodore noticed the admiration in her eyes, and his tone grew stranger. “How good–looking is he?”
Thinking he hadn’t been online much in the past two years, Eliana picked up her phone, searched for Raphael’s photo, and handed it to him. “This is him.”
Theodore glanced down. The so–called artist was early twenties, with chestnut–colored short hair, a delicate face, and a slender build–someone he could probably knock down with one punch. He turned away coldly. “He’s just average.”
Eliana felt deflated. “He’s not good–looking? He’s the most popular artist in our company!”
Theodore resisted the urge to pinch her and asked with a squint, “Do you like him?”
“He’s an idol. Isn’t it normal to admire him?” But Raphael had an unfriendly personality. When she occasionally met him at the company, he basically
ignored her, but she couldn’t help it. After all, his work ability was too strong.
Theodore suddenly realized how distant he still was from her world. He wanted to understand, but couldn’t bear her admiration for other men, so he temporarily let it go.
After putting her phone away, Eliana suddenly remembered something. “Oh, Mr. Russell, can I ask you a favor?”
Theodore nodded. “What is it?”
“Bernie knows I married you for a million dollars.” Mentioning this, Eliana’s mood turned bitter.
“Did you tell her?” Theodore tensed, knowing how much this would shock Bernice.
Eliana shook her head. “Anyway, she’s disappointed in me and ignoring me. I don’t know what to do, so I want to ask if you can spare time to go with me to the Therapy Center to see her?”
“Okay.” Theodore readily agreed.
Eliana sighed in relief, then clasped her hands, hesitant to speak. “Also, if possible, can you pretend to be loving and affectionate with me in front of Bernie?”
Theodore froze.
Seeing this, Eliana quickly explained, “Because she probably already knows the news about you and Ms. Powell, so she asked if you love me. I didn’t know how to answer her.”
Thinking of Bernice’s gaze at the time, Eliana nearly cried.
Theodore looked at her slightly red eyes, feeling heavy. He hadn’t expected his decision to cause her such immeasurable harm. “No problem. How about tomorrow?”
Tomorrow was Sunday, and Eliana would definitely be free, but she worried Theodore might be too busy just taking over Russell Group.
“If you can’t spare time, we can do it another day,” she said.
Touched that she was still considering him, Theodore softened, unable to resist brushing her soft forehead hair. “No, tomorrow. I’ll spend the whole day with you.”

At 7 p.m., after finishing his work, Theodore looked up to see Eliana curled up on the distant sofa, so bored that she fell asleep.
Seeing her curling in sleep, Theodore felt so complicated.
With his mother gone early and his father remarried, he’d never had a complete, happy family. Because of this, he’d always longed for one deeply, but a car accident had shattered his dream of building a family with Alice.
Theodore had thought he’d die alone, but fate gave him Eliana. He suddenly felt less regretful.
Just then, Stanley walked in to remind Theodore it was time to leave.
Theodore said softly, “Prepare the car.”
Stanley hurried out.
When Theodore tried to pick Eliana up, she woke up just then, smacking her lips. “Can we go now?”
Theodore said gently, “Yes. Next time you want to sleep, you can go to the suite.”
Eliana replied, “Maybe I shouldn’t come again. I’ll distract you from work.“.
Besides, people here constantly gave her curious or strange looks, making her uncomfortable..
“You don’t like it here?” he asked.
Russell Group was the financial heart of Covenhill. No one was supposed to feel uncomfortable here.
Eliana said, “I’m just not used to the vibe here.”
She was used to ordinary life. Being escorted out of the police station by Nathan and other officials today, then brought to Russell Group, and meeting someone like Felix through Theodore. All of this was alien to her daily life.
Theodore understood her unease. When he was blind, she hadn’t faced such obvious changes in status.
Now, his task was to help her grow accustomed to it all. After all, she was his wife, and he had a duty to integrate her into his world.
When Eliana arrived at Russell Manor, she saw Alice stepping out of Anthony’s car. She paused, then took the initiative to approach and ask with concern, “Ms. Powell, is your leg feeling better?”
Alice wore a knee–length white dress, revealing a bandaged left calf. She could barely stand, yet Anthony had let her leave the hospital so soon.
Anthony took Alice’s hand gently. “You should have waited for me to carry you out.”
Alice first smiled at Eliana. “I’m much better.”
Then she glanced at Theodore behind Eliana and let Anthony lift her. “I wanted to try if I could walk on my own,” Alice said.
Theodore stepped forward and whispered to Eliana, “Let’s go in.”
Eliana nodded, gestured to Alice, and followed Theodore inside.
Alice’s smile faded slightly. She thought, ‘Theodore didn’t even look at me.
Anthony asked, “Are you upset?”

Alice hurried to deny it. “No.”

“You have every right to be upset. You looked after Theodore for five years. Of course, you can’t accept a woman who’s only been in his life a month replacing you,” Anthony said.
He was like a whispering devil made Alice clench her fists, her long nails nearly piercing her palms.
When she saw the lily garden she’d once loved reduced to chaos, Alice was horrified.
Theodore had planted the entire garden for her on a whim years ago, but now it was in ruins.

Standing beside her like a viper, Anthony whispered in Alice’s ear, “Eliana begged Grandpa to have these lilies cut down last night. Not only that, Grandpa gave her the heirloom emerald necklace meant only for Theodore’s future wife. It should have belonged to you.”
