On our wedding day, I got up before dawn to do my makeup. After Nathaniel carried me out the door and into the car, I stole a glance at his profile.
He was completely different from George. George was that kind of reckless rich kid with a bit of a bad boy vibe. But Nathaniel was particularly proper, with a straight nose bridge and thin lips. People say men like that are heartless, but I’d seen him go crazy for me. Thinking about this, sweetness welled up in my heart.
Getting married again, same route, but my feelings were completely different. In my past life, I’d constantly worried that George would have regrets. But in this life, I only felt at peace.
Suddenly, the wedding car stopped. I saw George standing in the middle of the road, wearing a suit with a groom’s badge. No one expected he’d actually dare to cause trouble on our wedding day. He must have truly lost his mind.
Nathaniel got out and walked to my side, standing with me.
“Let me handle this, so things don’t get too ugly between you brothers.”
But Nathaniel gripped my hand tighter: “We’re married now, When there’s trouble, we face it together.”
The warm touch instantly made me feel secure. But seeing us so intimate only made George more frantic,

I found it absurd. Was he treating marriage like child’s play? Or life like a TV drama? When he had it, he didn’t cherish it, but now he was making such a scene.
“George, I thought I’d made myself clear. If you’re here to witness the ceremony, my husband and I welcome you. If you’re here to cause trouble, don’t blame me for not being polite.”
“Beatrice, why are you being so cold to me? It’s me! Didn’t you love me most?”
After saying this, he suddenly lunged at me viciously. The gleam in his hand made me realize he had a knife.
But someone snatched the knife away with bare hands. Nathaniel disarmed him barehanded, accidentally getting hurt in the process. Bright red blood dripped onto the ground.
I anxiously tried to cover his wound, saying with concern: “Are you okay? How could you be so foolish?”
George’s voice was dejected: “You used to only worry about me. Now you worry about others too?”
I glanced at him sideways: “Nathaniel is my husband, Should I worry about you instead of him?”
George had already been restrained by the wedding party’s friends and family. But Isabella somehow ran out from home, hugging George and crying hysterically.

“George, I’ll marry you, I’ll marry you, okay?”
George quickly explained to me: “Beatrice, I never said I’d marry her.”

Then he pleaded in a low voice: “Beatrice, I really know I was wrong. Can’t you give me one chance? In this lifetime, I’ll definitely treat you well and never repeat my mistakes.”
I didn’t want to say more, and I was worried about Nathaniel’s injury.
“Hurry up and take him away. Let Grandpa deal with him.”
Back in the car, someone brought a medical kit. Fortunately, the wound wasn’t deep and only needed simple disinfection and bandaging, without affecting the wedding.
I heard that after George was sent back to the Chapman house, his father slapped him several times and locked him in his room.
“Have someone watch him. Don’t let him come out again.”
