Chapter 7
Our relationship moved fast. After just two months together, both families had already set a wedding date.
After a company party, the night was getting late.
I’d had quite a bit to drink and my cheeks were flushed pink from the alcohol.
Logan was helping me walk when I suddenly stopped.
“Bella?”
My confused voice made Logan look up. Standing at the hotel entrance was a woman staring daggers at both of us.
Bella’s gaze was poison as she looked at me and sneered.
“You bitch. Did I ever treat you badly? And you still had the guts to steal my man?”
“I was worried sick about you. Right after my wedding, I brought my husband to check on you. I threw you a fucking birthday party. And this is how you repay me?”
The alcohol fog cleared from my head a bit, and I started piecing things together.
Friends back in New York had told me Atlas was going crazy looking for me.
He’d used every connection he had, practically turned the whole city upside down.
Bella was pregnant and stuck at home alone.
And Atlas? He couldn’t have cared less.
She’d confronted him with tears in her eyes, only to be met with the same cold and emotionless Atlas.
The same way he used to treated me.
I always knew this day would come, but I didn’t expect it to go down like this.
I have to admit, while I wasn’t happy about it, I didn’t feel all that sorry either.
I straightened up and looked at her calmly.
“I never stole your man. It’s you stole mine.”
My denial made her even angrier.
Bella stormed toward me and raised her hand to slap me, but Logan grabbed her wrist.

Chapter 7
“You bitch! You think I’m blind? If you weren’t throwing yourself at him, why would he change so much!”
“Your boyfriend’s dead. If you’re that horny, go pay a gigolo or something!”
Logan’s face darkened as he shoved her to the ground. “Watch your mouth!”
I saw the blood seeping between Bella’s legs and slowly lowered my raised hand.
That slap would’ve made us even for the three years she helped me.
I glanced toward the man lurking in the shadows and gave him a mocking smile.
“Aren’t you gonna comfort your wife?”
Atlas in the corner wasn’t looking at Bella on the ground. His eyes were locked on Logan and me.
Seeing the fury in his bloodshot eyes, Logan frowned and stepped in front of me protectively.
Finally, Atlas stepped out of the shadows. His voice was low and strained. “Let’s go home. I’ll explain everything.”
Bella’s face twisted with rage.
“What kind of explanation could possibly make me forgive this double betrayal!”
“You’re the love of my life, and she was my best friend!”
“When you two were sneaking around behind my back, did you think about this moment?”
I let out a bitter laugh. “Double betrayal?”
‘What about how you both betrayed me?”
Oh, no. It wasn’t the same at all.
I’d been lied to, deceived, and played for a goddamn fool for three years without having a clue what was happening
