As for Zane and Ethan… I didn’t know what to do with them.
I had told them both very clearly: I was their stand–in and their simp purely for the money. I even returned the money they’d given me.
But no matter what I said, they wouldn’t leave me alone.
It was like the roles had reversed.
Zane stared at me with nothing but affection now, completely forgetting about the “ture
love” he had just flown back from overseas.
Ethan, on the other hand, was practically glued to me, chasing after me relentlessly.
The way he followed me around was exactly how I used to follow him.
He even seemed eager to announce to the world that he was trying to win me over.
My only reaction?
Men are so weird.
Well, all except for one: Hunter.
For the first time, I realized there was someone other than my brother who could be so
kind to me.
Hunter took care of me like no one else ever had.
While my brother and Holden were off in their honeymoon phase, Hunter stayed by my
side.
He took me to places I’d never been, made sure I was okay, and always found ways to make me laugh.
The first time he kissed me on the cheek, my heart raced so fast it felt like it might burst.
That’s when I finally understood–I liked him, too.
Our relationship had barely begun when we were caught.
All Hunter did was sneak a kiss on my cheek, but somehow my brother managed to walk in at the exact wrong moment.
What followed was a full–blown interrogation.
Now that my brother was officially the head of the household, even Holden had to listen
to him.
So of course, Hunter and I stood no chance against him.
But Hunter didn’t give up.
He passed every one of my brother’s tests and eventually earned the right to be with me.
Still, every time my brother saw us holding hands, he looked like he’d just eaten a plate of
lemons.
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t stop it.
And I couldn’t be happier.
Watching my brother so content with Holden and knowing I had Hunter by my side…
I didn’t just gain a partner.
I gained two more family members.
