Ashton had only touched me slightly, but I still experienced contractions. Craig immediately took me to the hospital. His anxious gaze remained fixed on my bulging stomach.
The doctor was very skilled at stabilizing the baby. We took another ultrasound, and the doctor came out with the result.
“Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Byrd. You have a pair of fraternal twins: a boy and a girl!”
Craig was amazed, and he took the ultrasound and began scrutinizing it closely.
“I can’t believe we have a boy and a girl!” He hugged me tightly, his eyes reddening slightly.” Blair, you have done our family a huge favor!”
I laughed softly and shook my head. “Well, I want more than two children!”
He stroked my hair tenderly, looking at me as if I were the most precious thing in the world. He then took out a folder.
“This is for you. You can have one of Byrd Group’s subsidiary companies. Have fun with it!”
I was stunned. The subsidiary company of Byrd Group was a very large one. Even Ashton did not have any authority over it. However, Craig was now giving me the shares of the company!
Craig looked very earnest, and the name on the document had been changed to mine.
I felt a lump in my throat. I could feel his sincerity. In my past life, Craig had treated me very well. While he had been alive, he had never allowed Ashton to fool around out there. However, he had died under the knives of those men.
“Honey, I suddenly dreamt about my past life last night.”
I wrapped my arms around his waist, which had firm abs. “I dreamt that you were killed in your past life. You must take two bodyguards with you when you go out in the future–no, four!”
“What nonsense are you thinking?” He was amused. “I won’t die so young. I want to watch with you as the children grow up.”
I shook my head. “You have to listen to me, or I won’t let you go out!”
He ruffled my hair and hummed gently. “Alright! They say that men who listen to their wives will prosper, so I’ll be sure to obey!”
Meanwhile, Ashton and Jane were having a hard time. Ever since finding out that I was pregnant with twins, Craig had been afraid that Ashton would try to harm me, so he sent him abroad to Astonia.

Before he left, I reminded Craig to send Jane away as well. After all, I had to make sure that she and Ashton would stay together, as they had been lovers in both the past life and this one.
Craig remembered what I had said.
After reaching Astonia, Ashton could not find a job and spent all his days drinking. If anything happened to make him unhappy, he would go home and torture Jane.
Jane had been willing to placate him at first, and she would agree to any request he made. Gradually, however, she began to strike back, She would often strike out in revenge when Ashton was asleep.
Ashton did still have some connections, and he found out that it was Jane who drugged him from the beginning! –
This shocked him. “You slut! So it was all done by you!”
He stared at Jane in disbelief and gripped her shoulders tightly. Jane bit his arm. “So what if I did? Wasn’t it what you
wanted?”
Ashton thought back on it. He had always thought that it was something that I would do.
He had never imagined that it would turn out to be Jane who had given him the drugs!
“Are you crazy? Why did you do such a thing?” He was utterly confused.
“Because I wanted to marry you, but you said that you only liked me and wouldn’t marry me!” Jane screamed shrilly.
Ashton suddenly realized how disgusting the person he had liked for so long was! He had liked her innocence, but she had turned out to be the most manipulative one of all!
“You’re insane.” He pushed her away roughly and turned to go out.
After finding out the truth, Ashton began to ignore Jane. The two of them gave each other the cold shoulder.
