Chapter 39
Martin knew it couldn’t be that simple, but this was 30 million!
No matter what condition was presented, he’d agree without hesitation.
“I want your employee, Jack, to be the designer and developer for this game. No one else is allowed to interfere or object!”
“Jack? Jack … Galvez?”
Martin paused to think and recalled him vaguely.
“Alright, alright, no problem! I also think Jack is a talented person. I’ll definitely give him a lot of responsibility!” Martin smiled eagerly.
“I haven’t finished yet. As for your nephew, I don’t think it’s necessary to keep him in the company.”
Martin was just speechless.
Why his nephew?
“What, Mr. Fowler? You don’t agree?”
“No… no, we’ll do as you say.”
Just a nephew–how could he compare to a 30 million investments?
He’d go ahead and fire him right now!
After the meeting, Blake left.
Once paralyzed for years, still with some remaining power, he had hidden it all away.
But now, for Isabel, he had to bring it out.
Thirty million–it was worth it if it could help Isabel.
“Mr. Fowler, Miss Jovian from Oceania Group is here!” Just as Blake walked out, the assistant rushed in to report.
“Oceania Group? Miss Jovian?”
“Yes!”
“What are we waiting for? Please, show her in!”
Martin was nearly beside himself with urgency. First, Mr. Yates, and now, another big shot–Miss Jovian from Oceania?
“Mr. Fowler, how are you?” Chris walked in briskly, hands tucked into her coat pockets.
Martin quickly stood to greet him. “Miss Jovian, it’s an honor to have you visit our company. What brings you to us?”
Their company was just a small one, nowhere near worthy of a visit from Chris.
“Mr. Fowler, I’m here to seek investment. I plan to invest 30 million in your company.”
Martin was just speechless.

Chapter 39
What was going on?
Old Lady Luck pay me a visit today?
First, it was Mr. Yates from the Yates family, and now, Miss Jovian from Oceania Group.
This was truly bizarre.
“Miss Jovian, you must be joking, right?” Martin couldn’t believe it.
“Do I look like the kind of person who jokes?”
“Oh, I’m sorry. I was overthinking it. It’s an honor for Skycross to have your attention!”
“It’s only 30 million. Whenever you’re ready with the contract, just let me know. But I have one condition–you have to agree to it.”
How domineering!
Her tone was commanding, not negotiating.
“Please, go ahead, Miss Jovian.”
“I want Jack to be the designer and manager for this game. Fire your nephew!”
Again!
What had happened to his nephew?
He had upset two big names, and now they both wanted him out.
“Don’t worry, Miss Jovian. I’ll do it right away!” Martin was practically bursting with excitement.
“If Jack leaves, I’ll buy Skycross,” Chris added.
This statement frightened Martin beyond belief!
It seemed Jack was a real treasure-
He had to be treated well.
As for his nephew, he was nothing but a disaster. Time to show him the door.
Meanwhile, in the office area below, colleagues tried to advise Jack to endure it.
But Chad was pushing his luck, continually insulting him.
Finally, Jack snapped. He swung his fist and landed it right on Chad’s face.
“You dare hit me? You’ve got some nerve! Do you still want your job?!” Chad wiped his nose, noticing it was bleeding.
“Even if I get fired today, I’m going to say my piece! You, Chad, don’t know the first thing about programming, you have no clue about games, and you’re even more clueless when it comes to game operations!
“With someone like you managing the company, it’s only a matter of time before it shuts down!”
“How dare you!” Chad lunged at him, and the two of them began to grapple.

Chapter 39
The surrounding people dared not step in, allowing them to fight it out.
Nearby desks were in disarray, papers and office supplies scattered everywhere.
“Mr. Fowler is here!” someone shouted from the crowd.
Martin came over and saw the fight. He immediately understood what was going on.
It seemed like someone was protecting Jack, and not just any two people–more likely, multiple parties were involved.
Otherwise, why would both Blake and Chris have come looking for him?
“Why are you just standing there? Pull them apart!” Martin ordered his employees.
They rushed forward and separated the two.
Chad, seeing his uncle had arrived, immediately ran to complain.
“Mr. Fowler, you have to fire him. He actually laid his hands on me–this is outrageous!”
Martin shot him a cold glare before walking toward Jack.
Chad smiled smugly, thinking this was it.
Jack would be kicked out, and he’d never have to deal with him again.
Who in this company didn’t fawn over him?
Only Jack and his few friends didn’t care about him and treated him with disdain.
When Jack saw Martin approach, he said casually, “I’m done here. I don’t need to stay.”
After finishing his words, he was about to turn around and leave.
“Jack, you can’t leave. The company can’t do without you!” Martin quickly responded.
Everyone was startled.
Martin was always protective of Chad. No matter what Chad did, Martin always took his side.
But now… something was off.
Jack looked at Martin, completely baffled.
“Uncle, what are you saying? I must’ve misheard you?” Chad was in disbelief.
Slap!
Martin slapped him across the face.
“You dare disrespect Jack and hit him? Apologize to him right now!”
Chad and Jack felt that they had nothing to say.
What was wrong with Mr. Fowler?
Chapter 39
“No.. Mr. Fowler, are you out of your mind? Shouldn’t it be him who’s apologizing?”
Before Chad could finish, Martin slapped him again.
“It’s your fault! Don’t make excuses. Apologize right now!” Martin’s face was flushed with anger as he pointed at him.
Jack was the golden goose now. Martin wasn’t stupid enough to offend him.
Chad, seeing his uncle’s anger and realizing he wasn’t joking, reluctantly walked over.
“I’m sorry.”
Slap!
Martin kicked him hard, sending Chad crashing to the floor on his knees.
“Kneel down and apologize. Don’t you dare fake it!”
He could only look at Jack, helplessly muttering, “Sorry, Jack. It was my fault.”
“From now on, Chad, you’re done at Skycross! People like you are nothing but a rotten apple, bound to spoil everything. Get out. Now!”
Chad couldn’t believe it. Not only did he have to kneel to apologize, but now he was being fired.
Why was his uncle doing this?
Had he lost his mind?.
“No need. I’ve already decided to leave. From now on, I want nothing to do with this place,” Jack said calmly.
He’s had enough of this company!
His overtime pays had been pocketed by Chad.
The games he designed had been stolen and credited to Chad.
If not for supporting his family and his younger brother in school–and because this was the career, he loved–he would have left long ago!
Now, with his Alex’s high salary and Roy working at Dely Studio, the family’s burden was lighter.
There was no need for him to put up with this anymore.
When Martin heard this, he panicked!
If Jack left, what would happen to Blake and Miss Jovian?
Miss Jovian had said that if Jack left, he’d buy the company!
He would not let this happen!
