Chapter 11
Coral, who was supposed to be abroad, somehow made it back to the country.
But her body was covered in wounds, her clothes tattered and torn, looking completely desperate.
After hitting Ryan, she turned toward me.
To my shock, she dropped to her knees right in front of me.
“Miss Reed, I know I’ve wronged you, but I have nothing left. Without Ryan, I’ll die–I don’t even have the ability to survive on my own anymore.”
“I’ve miscarried three of his children and can’t have any more. If he leaves me, I’m truly finished.”
Ryan’s eyes widened in horror as he immediately tried to shove her away.
I let out a scornful laugh and replied coldly:
“By all means, Miss Baker, keep your man–just don’t let him come looking for me again.”
“But the things you two did to me overseas? Neither of you will escape responsibility for that.”
With that, I turned and walked away.
Behind me, I could hear them pushing and cursing at each other.
I don’t know where Ryan sent Coral after that, but he continued to pursue me relentlessly.
His company was on the verge of bankruptcy under multiple attacks.
Yet he kept coming up with desperate schemes.
He dug up old photos of us together, trying to rekindle my feelings.
He personally made desserts I used to love and delivered them daily to the villa I shared with
Theodore.
I was beyond irritated.

Theodore intensified his actions against Ryan’s company, determined to bankrupt him completely.
Soon, rumors spread across the internet, exposing Ryan’s alleged crimes overseas.

Under the pressure of public opinion and business attacks, Ryan’s company finally collapsed and declared bankruptcy.
Ryan came to find me, his face twisted with pain as he fell to his knees.
“Claire, that company has your blood and sweat in it too. How can you be so heartless as to destroy
it?”
His bloodshot eyes looked like they might drip blood, his expression nearly breaking down.
“Claire, why won’t you believe me? I do love you, I know I realized it too late, but I truly regret everything. It doesn’t matter that you destroyed the company–it’s all yours if you want it–just please forgive me.”
But I just shrugged and narrowed my eyes at him.
“This isn’t over yet, Ryan. You didn’t think I’d stop here, did you?”
Ryan looked down in confusion, staring at me uncomprehendingly.
Moments later, police sirens wailed in the distance.
His expression instantly changed, his face turning ghostly white as he collapsed to the ground, his voice choked with sobs.
“Claire… why?!”
I curled my lips and replied, emphasizing each word:
“Because I absolutely hate you.”
Ryan went to prison, sentenced to fifteen years.

Coral was also charged as an accomplice and sentenced to eight years.
I threw myself wholeheartedly into my own life, trying my best to forget everything from the past.
After marrying Theodore, I didn’t rely on him but built my own company.
It quickly grew to a scale that rivaled Ryan’s former empire.
Ten years later, I attended a private auction as a guest.
Ryan, released early from prison, was cleaning floors at the auction house.
But he had aged so much I barely recognized him. His skin was covered in wrinkles, his back hunched, and several fingers were grotesquely twisted, suggesting he’d been tortured in prison.
Coral followed him around like a shadow, clearly mentally disturbed.
She just smiled vacantly, peering through the door crack at the auction hall, repeating the same phrase over and over:
“Bid it all, bid it all…”
Ryan irritably pushed her away, but she followed him again, refusing to leave his side despite his
abuse.
While trying to avoid her, he happened to look through the door crack and unexpectedly met my
gaze.
He froze as if struck by lightning, his whole body trembling.
I just smiled slightly and looked away.
Turning my attention back to an antique on the auction stage, I spoke softly:
“Today, I’ll outbid everyone on every item in this auction.”
