Chapter 13
The smell of disinfectant in the ward stung the nostrils.
Vincent sat by the hospital bed, rubbing the bruised needle marks on his mother’s hand.
Since the farce at the wedding, Maggie’s heart condition has been acting up repeatedly, and she was just transferred out of the ICU today.
“Knock-”
The assistant tiptoed into the room, holding a file in his hand.
“Found it?”
Vincent’s voice was hoarse, with dark circles under his eyes.
“Ms. Caylor was in Paris.”
The assistant handed over the tablet, and on the screen was the official website of a luxury goods company called The Stewart Group.
“He is now their chief designer assistant.”
“The Stewart Group…”
Vincent’s thumb unconsciously swiped across the blurry silhouette on the screen, “Book the next available flight.”
He had just walked out of the hospital building when a figure pounced from behind a pillar.
Juliana held onto his waist tightly, her carefully styled curls emitting a strong scent of perfume..
Chapter 13
“Vincent!”
Her voice was filled with tears as she said, “I sent you 99 messages, why didn’t you reply to me?”
“You have no idea how worried I was about you during this time!”
Vincent forcefully pried open her fingers, causing her to cry out in pain.
“Worried?”
He sneered, “My mom is still on oxygen now. What should I be worried about?”
“But we were husband and wife!”
Juliana’s diamond ring reflected a dazzling light in the sunlight, “legally recognized!”
“Law?”
Vincent suddenly grabbed her chin, “Do I need to remind you how we got the marriage certificate?”
He leaned in and whispered in her ear, “Just like how you stole Alice’s design draft, it’s all stolen.”
Upon hearing that name, Juliana’s pupils suddenly contracted.
She pushed Vincent suddenly, her nails leaving a blood mark on his neck.
“Weren’t you saying she was just a decoration?”
“You had no business meddling in our affairs.”
Vincent leisurely wiped away the bloodstains, “It’s you, and Matheo, in the video of having an affair in the bridal chamber, do you want me to show it to the media?”
Chapter 13
Juliana’s face turned pale in an instant.
She knelt down and grabbed Vincent’s pants leg, saying, “That’s all in the past… I haven’t loved him for a long time…”
“How early?”
Vincent squatted down and suddenly gently smoothed her temple hair.
“Earlier than when you hid a recording pen under the pillow? Earlier than when you drugged Alice’s coffee?”
He tightened his fingers suddenly, “Was it earlier than when you were still lying in his bed the night before the wedding?”
Juliana’s pupils contracted sharply, and the carefully drawn eyeliner was smudged into a terrifying black stain by tears.

She staggered back two steps, her high heels caught in the gaps
the floor tiles, and she fell awkwardly to the ground.
“How could you…”
Her fingers, painted with nail polish, dug deep into the ground, knuckles turning white. “You promised…”
Vincent’s gaze was colder than the winter night wind.
He lifted his foot and shook off Juliana’s hand, the tip of his shoe touching the blood seeping from her lips.
“Acting emotional?”
He suddenly chuckled, his laughter tinged with malice, “You’re right, It did indeed…”
Before the words had even finished, Juliana suddenly lunged forward and started tearing at his tic.
Chapter 11
“It was with your consent! The hospital blood bank clearly had spare blood bags, but you insisted on draining her blood! It was you who personally held her down on the blood collection chair!”
Her voice was sharp and piercing, “What are you pretending now…”
“Shut up!”
Vincent suddenly grabbed her slender neck and pressed her whole body against the wall.
Juliana’s feet left the ground and kicked wildly, her pearl earrings falling off in the struggle and rolling onto the floor.
“Vincent!”
The sound from nearby brought Vincent back to reality.
He looked up and saw Maggie standing below the ward, watching as he almost choked Juliana to unconsciousness.
She wanted to rush over, but because she had been lying in bed for several days, she fell down the stairs all of a sudden.
