In the hospital, Grandpa Arthur looked at Dax by his bedside, squeezing out a few words with all his might: “Where’s Elara?”
Dax’s body stiffened, grief surging into his eyes again: “She…”
Grandpa’s health couldn’t withstand any more shocks.
At this thought, Dax struggled to steady himself, concealing the truth about Elara’s “death.”
“She was sent to Somalia for medical aid because she disrespected you. When she understands her mistake, I’ll bring her back.”
At this, Grandpa Arthur became agitated and coughed violently: “You scoundrel!”
“It was that wretched dancer of yours who harmed me!”
Dax’s eyes were filled with shock: “What are you saying? How could that be?”
Seraphina was so delicate, even her voice was soft and gentle; how could she do such a thing?
Grandpa Arthur’s lips trembled with anger: “Go check the surveillance footage yourself”
Soon, Dax ordered his assistant to retrieve all surveillance footage from the old estate.
When all the facts were laid out before him, his voice was chillingly cold:
“Bring Seraphina here, and call the police.”
When Seraphina was brought to the top floor of the club, Dax stood with his back to her, looking out the massive floor-to-ceiling window.
On the projection screen in front of him, a video of Seraphina secretly swapping Grandpa Arthur’s medication played on a loop.
On the table next to it lay a thick stack of documents.
They contained all the evidence of Seraphina fabricating claims that Elara had leaked her intimate videos, and of her staging herself at the auction.
“Explain,” Dax didn’t turn around, simply gazing at the boundless night outside, his voice icy.
Seraphina’s face instantly went ashen.
“Dax, these are all faked! Believe me, how could I do such things?”
Dax suddenly let out a low, bone-chilling laugh.
“Seraphina, you were just a mere tool I hired to provoke her. How could you have the audacity to
my person?”
touch
“No, you’re not even a tool. You’re just an actress who can be discarded at any moment.”
He turned around.
“Since you love acting so much, then go somewhere you can truly put on a show. I’ll make sure someone ‘takes good care’ of you.”
He emphasized the words “takes good care” heavily.

When the handcuffs clicked around Seraphina’s wrists, she completely broke down, screaming.
“Dax! I did all of this because I love you! These past few months, haven’t you felt anything real for
me?!”
Dax’s voice was devoid of emotion: “Never”
For a long time afterward, Dax kept himself locked in the villa, a hollow shell of himself.
It wasn’t until his assistant knocked on his door: “Mr. Lu, Seraphina is losing her mind in the
detention center. She insists on seeing you, saying she has news about Ms. Elara.”
At the mention of Elara’s name, a glimmer of light finally appeared.
“Get the car ready!”
In the gloomy visitation room, Seraphina was tormented beyond recognition, her eyes filled with
fear and venomous hatred.
She stopped wasting words and got straight to the point:
“Elara is still alive.”
