When I woke up, Dax tossed a document and a satellite phone onto my bed.
“You’re going on a maritime medical rescue ship to Somalia, departing at 8 AM tomorrow.”
“You’ve been causing trouble lately, first harming Seraphina, then trying to murder Grandpa. I don’t
want to see you anymore.”
He looked down at me.
“Aren’t you a doctor? Use your skills to atone in Africa.””
“When you understand the preciousness of life, I’ll consider letting you return.”
Staring at the deployment document stamped with a Red Cross emblem, I suddenly felt like laughing.
In my previous life, he had been utterly destroyed for me; in this life, he wanted to banish me
overseas.
Seeing me silently pick up the document, he frowned, “You’re just agreeing? Nothing to say?”
I wanted to say so much.
I wanted to say he had misplaced his trust in Seraphina, that he had betrayed my true feelings, that
Seraphina was the one who harmed Grandpa.
But in the end, I just shook my head.
A flicker of something complex crossed his eyes, “To prevent you from escaping halfway, I’ll personally escort you onto the ship.”
The next day, at the dock, I sent a message to my international lawyer.

The salty sea breeze was pungent at the dock, but then Seraphina’s phone rang.
The moment he answered, his voice instantly softened: “Seraphina, don’t be scared. I’ll be right back with you!”
Only after his figure vanished into the crowd did I turn and walk to the other side of the dock.
I ripped the deployment document into pieces and threw them into the churning sea.
Then I boarded an unassuming private yacht.
“Miss, the route to Switzerland has been planned.”
“Set sail.”
Under the sunset, the yacht sailed away from the port, my silhouette resolute.
Meanwhile, Dax was rushing to the hospital, when the internal communication channel in his car suddenly cut to an urgent report:
“Emergency report! The Voyager’ medical rescue ship heading to Somalia has encountered a pirate attack in the Gulf of Aden! The vessel has sunk!
“All thirty-two people on board are missing. Chances of survival are slim!”
