Chapter 10
Adrian clutched his head painfully, his voice full of regret. “I was such a b*stard in those dreams. I’m so sorry. I want to make it up to you…”
I stepped back, my voice distant and cold. “If you really want to make it up to me, then live a good life with Sophia and stop bothering me.”
His shoulders sagged, his eyes pleading. “Don’t I have any chances left? Can’t we really be together?”
I pointed toward the door, dismissing him. “Just go. It’s not possible between us!”
Since he and Sophia were already living here, there was no reason for me to stay. The Northgates had never really been my home anyway.
Early the next morning, I packed my bags and knocked on Margaret’s door.
I pressed a bank card into her hands, saying calmly, “Thank you for taking care of me all these years. This money is my way of repaying you for raising me.”
Margaret froze, quickly waving her hands in refusal. “Elena, I can’t take this…”
“Please keep it. We probably won’t see each other much anymore.”
Margaret looked at me in alarm. “What do you mean by that? You’re not coming back?”
A strong sense of reluctance suddenly rose in her heart. She realized that all these years, she had focused on Sophia while often
overlooking how thoughtful I was.
She began thinking that maybe someone like me would have been better suited to be Adrian’s mate.
“Elena, actually Adrian he…”
“I have things to handle at school. I need to go.”
Before she could finish, I cut her off, dragging my luggage behind me as I left the mansion without a single backward glance, feeling no attachment whatsoever.
Whether they regretted anything did not matter anymore. I was letting them go and I would have a better life ahead.
Rushing to the dock with my luggage, I wondered if I could still get a ticket to the northern grasslands.
Just as I was thinking about this, Garrett appeared in front of me carrying a large bag, looking surprised and delighted.
“Elena!” He broke into a huge smile and hurried over.
I was a bit surprised too, smiling as I greeted him. “Garrett! I didn’t know you were from White Moon Pack too.”
“Yeah! Aren’t you here for the holidays? What are you doing at the dock?”
⚫ I lowered my eyes, saying softly, “Just some personal stuff. I want to head back to school now.”
Garrett was quiet for a moment, then suddenly gathered his courage. “Why don’t you come over and spend Christmas at my place instead?”
I looked up sharply, staring at him in surprise. The sunlight fell across his sincere face, making him look especially attractive.
I suddenly smiled, my mood lifting completely. “Okay, I’ll come with you!”
At that moment, I knew a new chapter of my life was about to begin.

Killian was systematically purging every last remnant of Mia’s influence. Freezing assets, exiling her allies, destroying all records. He had even personally torn down every trace of her existence in the Blackwood Pack.
“He’s trying to prove his remorse,” I said, showing the phone to Damien.
“Too late,” Damien scoffed. “Some things can’t be undone.”
The next day, the official coronation ceremony for the new empire was held. The entire wolf world was watching this historic
moment.
I wore a silver coronation gown, a crown of moonstones weighing on my head. Damien was dressed in the black royal uniform of his house, holding the ancestral scepter of the Ironfang Pack.
We walked side by side toward the twin thrones, our steps silent on the long red carpet.
Tens of thousands of wolves rose to their feet in respect.
“All hail! All hail! All hail!”
The roar was like a tidal wave.
Just as the coronation was about to begin, an image suddenly appeared on the large screens.
It was Mia.
She sat in a plain, drab room, her face haggard, her eyes empty.
“My name is Mia Mist,” she said to the camera. “And I have something to say.”
The hall fell silent.
“I am not some simple Omega,” she said, her voice filled with despair. “I am the daughter of a servant from the Silvermoon
Pack.”
“All my life, I heard the legends of the Silvermoon royals, of the lost princess.”
“The first time I saw Seraphina, I knew she was the one from the stories.”
A shocked murmur went through the crowd.
“I was jealous of her,” Mia continued. “Jealous of her bloodline, her power, everything she had.”
“So I copied her. I wanted to become her.”
“I thought if I could just take her position, her mate, I could become her.”
“But I was wrong,” she sobbed. “I could never be her. We were never even playing the same game.”
The video ended, and the hall was once again silent.
I watched it all from the throne, feeling nothing. Her confession meant nothing to me now.
The coronation continued.
The moment the crown was placed on my head, I felt the world settle at my feet.
I glanced toward the viewing stands and saw Killian in the crowd. He was sitting in the very last row, his eyes vacant, looking like a walking corpse.

I held his gaze for only a second before looking away.
He was a chapter I had closed.
My future–my eternity–was with the man beside me.
“The ceremony is over, my Queen,” Damien whispered in my ear, his voice filled with tenderness and pride.
I squeezed his hand, feeling the perfect fusion of our power.
“Now,” he whispered, “the world is ours.”
