During winter break, Margaret kept calling me nonstop.
“Christmas is coming and we always spend the holidays together. When are you coming home?”
I really did not want to go back, but Adrian’s parents had raised me. I could not bring myself to be completely heartless.
After thinking it over for a long time, I finally bought a train ticket and headed back to White Moon Pack with a bag full of local
souvenirs.
The moment I walked through the mansion’s front door, I heard Sophia’s shrill screaming.
“Adrian, how can you treat me like this? I’m carrying your pup!”
I froze in place, staring at Sophia with her huge belly, pointing at Adrian and going off on him.
Adrian’s expression was dark, but he was still trying to calm her down. “Sophia, you need to relax. The doctor said that getting upset isn’t good for the pup.”
“I want that moonstone necklace and I want it now!”
“Sophia, can I get it for you next month? I just bought you that purse at the auction a couple of days ago. I don’t have any extra money right now…”
“Are you hiding money somewhere? Maybe sending it to my sister behind my back?”
Adrian’s expression shifted. “Sophia, don’t say crazy things. I cut ties with her ages ago.”
Sophia let out a bitter laugh. “Cut ties? Do you think I’m stupid? You text her every single day! You think I don’t know about that?
”
She started throwing things around like a maniac. Ceramic shards flew everywhere, cutting thin lines across Adrian’s face.
“Are you done with this tantrum? I told you I don’t have the money!” Adrian snapped impatiently, which only made Sophia cry harder.
“Oh, so now you’re sick of me? Well, I’m sick of you too! You’re so useless! After so long, you’re still just an ordinary warrior! I’ve gotten nothing but misery since I’ve been with you!”
“Sophia, you’re finally being honest, huh? You look down on me, and that’s why you never wanted to be my mate! I was such an idiot!”
Standing in the doorway, watching this whole scene, I found it absolutely ridiculous.
In my past life, I was his mate, but he went behind my back to treat Sophia well.
In this life, he got his wish to be with Sophia, but now he was sneaking around texting me.
A two–faced person like this was not worth even a moment of my regret.
Margaret noticed me and came over, grabbing my hand as she said with a slightly pleading tone, “Elena, you’re back! Please talk some sense into Sophia. That girl’s temper just keeps getting worse.”
I pulled my hand away coolly. “Their business has nothing to do with outsiders.”
‘I made an excuse about being tired and went to my room, not even glancing at her complicated expression.
I had just finished unpacking when Adrian knocked on my door.
“Elena, we need to talk.”

I hesitated, then stepped aside to let him in.
He took a deep breath and looked at me with what he probably thought was a soulful expression. “Elena, I’ve been thinking these past few days, and I’ve realized that you’re the mate I’ve always wanted.”
“Sophia is too materialistic. She spends money like water and her temper keeps getting worse. She’s not cut out to be a mate.”
“Come back to me. I’ve been waiting for you…”
I looked at him with cold amusement. “Waiting for me? While you were waiting, you got Sophia pregnant. What exactly do you take me for?”
Of course, I knew very well that I would make a good mate. In my previous life, I had worked tirelessly, taking care of the family and his parents. I had even handled my pup’s birth without bothering him.
He had been able to focus all his energy on work and quickly rose to become the pack’s first warrior. But now? How could he focus on work with all this drama?
His face turned red, panic filling his eyes. “Let me explain. That was just an accident. I was drunk that night…”
He went quiet for a few seconds, like he was remembering something.
“I’ve been having these dreams lately. Dreams where you’re my mate. You were gentle and caring, and you stayed in White Moon Pack to take care of my parents.”
He paused, his expression turning pained. “But in the dreams, I only had eyes for Sophia. I neglected you, hurt you and even forced you to break our mate bond with our son’s help. I was such a b*stard!”
I was stunned. He was actually dreaming about our past life.
