By the time I woke up, it was already the third day.
Kaelen gently picked me up and started dressing me, then did my hair. I looked in the mirror and noticed the woman staring back at me had a soft, radiant glow, as if she’d been completely transformed.
Kaelen cupped my face like it was the most precious thing in the world, and kissed my forehead softly.
“I promise I’ll get back everything that belongs to you.”
Once everything was in order, Kaelen called for his mount and flew me straight toward the Roffes. From a distance, I could already see a group of people waiting outside the Roffes‘ gates.
One of the elders stepped forward to greet us.
“I’m sorry we didn’t recognize you at first, Mr. Deep. Please forgive us. We got you these as an apology.”
I followed his gaze. Off to the side was a whole pile of extravagant gifts–luxuries I normally wouldn’t even have a chance to see, let alone use.
They’d even brought along a few seductive, curvy beast servants, who were shamelessly batting their lashes at Kaelen.
I pulled myself out of Kaelen’s arms, my eyes full of disdain.
“Hand Maisie over!”
“And you are?” the Roffes asked.
Watching the once–arrogant patriarch of the Roffes grovel before Kaelen was unbelievably satisfying.
“What’s wrong? It’s only been a few days, and you don’t recognize me? Weren’t you all so eager to kill me before?”
The moment those words left my mouth, everyone from the Roffes stared at me in shock. It had never crossed their minds that the breathtaking beauty in front of them was actually the sickly–looking Claudia from before.
“Hmph. If you won’t hand her over, I’ll go get her myself.”
