I waved my hand casually, and everyone in front of me stumbled back a few steps. With a cold scoff, I walked straight through the Roffes‘ front gate without hesitation.
I had only taken a few steps when someone appeared behind me it was Blair.
“You’ve changed,” he said.
I had no interest in whatever nonsense he wanted to say. I just wanted to find Maisie.
But Blair suddenly blocked my path and demanded, “Did you dual–cultivate with him? How could you do this to me?”
Before I could even react, Kaelen gave him a brutal kick that sent him flying, a look of annoyance on his face.
“Shut up and get out of the way.”
With no more obstacles, I quickly found Maisie in one of the rooms. She was kneeling on the ground, pale and trembling.
Justin was seated above her. The moment he saw Kaelen and me walk in, his body visibly stiffened, though he

quickly pretended nothing was wrong and ordered someone to serve us tea.
I wasn’t in the mood for small talk. I got straight to the point.
“I’m here for two things: to reclaim what’s mine and get justice for Dusty.”
Maisie, still kneeling, suddenly scrambled over to me and clung to my feet, acting all weak and pitiful.
“I’ll do anything you say. Just please, save me! I can’t go to the Beast Den! Aren’t you a half–beast? You can go instead of me! You won’t die anyway!”
Oh, right. I almost forgot. In my past life, this was exactly the time Maisie killed the Beast King’s son and enraged the entire beast realm.
I kicked her away and stomped my foot down on her hand.
“Are you out of your damn mind? I’m the person who hates you the most. Seeing you get thrown into the Beast Den would be a dream come true. Why would I ever take your place?”
Justin’s face filled with pity when he saw her like this.
He sent out a wave of energy that forced me back a step, then pulled the sniveling Maisie into his arms protectively.
“Claudia, don’t think just because someone’s backing you up now, you can do whatever you want. You’re Maisie’s sister. If you take her place and survive the Beast Den, I’ll publicly acknowledge you as family.”
Kaelen caught me as I staggered back, holding me tightly in his arms,
Surrounded by his steady warmth, I smiled and said calmly, “I can do whatever the hell I want. None of you remembered me when things were going great. But now that trouble’s here, you want to throw me under the bus? No way. Since Maisie’s going to the Beast Den, it’s time she gave back what’s mine.”
