The church was deathly silent, broken only by the younger brother’s panicked gasos
Caleb felt an explosive boom inside his head–the calm mask hed worn shattered in an instant He snatched the phone shaking hands. On the screen, a video began to play
In it, Elena was tied to a chair, blood at the comer of her mouth, her eyes hollow and lifeless A group of rough–looking men stood around her, and one of them was brandishing a dagger dangerously close to her face
A gruff voice barked, “Caleb, your wife is with me now if you want her alive, prepare 100 million
I send the location later. And remember–no cops, or else
The screen suddenly flashed. A muffled cry from a woman, followed by the heavy splash of something hitting water
“NO-
Caleb let out a roar like a beast in agony. The phone slipped from his trembling fingers
Then came another message
“Boss Turner, just as you wished–fed to the fish”
A guttural cry tore from his throat, filled with raw despair
He picked up the phone again, and there, clearly visible, was a blackmail message from the rival gang–and Elena’s reply, which she had forgotten to delete
Swallowing his fury, he dialed back, his hands clammy and cold
The man who had faced countless battles without flinching was now pale and trembling
The call connected. His voice cracked with desperation.
“Not just 100 million–200 million. I give it all. Just save my wife. Please. Right now
A sneer came through the other end. Then silence. The call ended.
Caleb howled and barked out orders to have the money transferred immediately
One of his men hesitated. “Boss, this is all our liquid cash. What if this is Boss Lu’s trap? We should at least confirm-”
“Shut up and do what I said!” Caleb snapped. His fingers flew across the screen, transferring money without hesitation.
Soon, another message arrived.
“Too late. You said to feed the fish. Should’ve regretted it sooner. Your wife’s belly probably had fish bones in it by now. The only thing left was a necklace. For the 300 million, I’ve had it packed and sent to you?”
Caleb collapsed to the ground, dazed.
The bloody necklace arrived quickly–along with a wound assessment, a divorce paper, a pregnancy test, and her phone.
He stared in disbelief.
For years, he misjudged everything. He’d falsely given gratitude to the wrong woman, publicly

disgraced the one who saved his life, and destroyed his own family.
It wasn’t until he heard of Elena’s abduction that he finally woke up. Now he realized–he had truly fallen in love with Elena.
It had nothing to do with duty or debt. His feelings were genuine. Pure.
But just as she stood on the brink of happiness, he pushed her away.
She hadn’t even told him about the baby.
He laughed and cried like a madman, as if the entire world had crumbled beneath him.
:
With trembling fingers, he unlocked Elena’s phone. His face turned white when he saw the message history.
Elena’s messages were still there:
“Elena, don’t think you can stay in this position just because you’re pregnant. I can ruin you again, believe it or not.
“Your parents‘ death anniversary is coming. Why not go see them yourself? Should I send someone to help?”
“Caleb said someone like you is too filthy to be his wife. On your wedding day, I’ll make sure someone humiliates you again.”
Caleb staggered out of the church, leaving a stunned crowd behind.
Standing at the edge of the crocodile pool, he screamed,
“She must’ve been terrified… She probably thought I abandoned her!”
“She never told me about the baby. She hated me so much…”
Unable to accept the truth, he leapt into the crocodile pool.
“Boss!!” Cries rang out around him–but it was too late.
For an entire day and night, Caleb slaughtered every crocodile in the enclosure like a man possessed.
He personally carved open each creature’s belly, searching desperately for any sign of Elena.
The water turned crimson. The stench was unbearable.
But there was nothing.
His men watched him–bloody, filthy, and deranged. They were shaken and heartbroken.
“Boss… stop. She’s gone…” one of them murmured.
“No! Impossible!”
Caleb gave a chilling laugh.
“If we haven’t found her, it means she’s alive! She’s just hiding from me, punishing me. I’ll find he and make it right!”
He clutched a necklace in his hand–the same one he’d gifted her when they married..
He’d promised they would hold the ceremony after she was released.
Gripping it tightly, he muttered to himself,
“Elena… I never wanted you to die. I really planned to marry you today. I never asked anyone to

“I was going to make it right today. Elena, I swear, I’ll spend the rest of my life making it up to
you…
His voice faded into a broken sob.
One of the younger men stepped forward hesitantly.
“Boss, please take care of yourself. Miss Elena’s been asking about you every day–she’s really worried.”
“Shut up! Don’t ever mention that woman in front of me!”
The men exchanged uneasy glances.
This was the same boss who once doted on Elena endlessly.
But now, he hadn’t eaten in three days. Finally, his body gave out, and he collapsed.
When he arrived, he was home.
But everything related to Elena–gone.
Frantically, he called the servants.
“Where are Elena’s things? Her cup? Her paintings? The gifts I gave her? Where did it all go?”
One servant, clearly nervous, replied,
“Madam… she smashed everything the day before the farewell banquet. Then asked me to throw it all away.”
“What?! Farewell banquet?”
She had seen it. She knew everything.
And she knew just how much it would hurt him.
He tore through the house like a madman, searching for anything he had given Elena. Nothing.
Another servant, hesitant, added,
‘The valuable gifts weren’t thrown away… Miss Elena took them.”
“What?”
‘She… she said Madam was a slut, not worthy of those jewels…”
Caleb’s entire body trembled.
Fury surged through him.
These past days, he’d been too consumed with finding Elena to deal with that woman.
But now, it was time.
