The wedding guests erupted into chaos.
“Derek’s lost his mind–digging up a corpse? That’s just asking for bad luck!”
“He used to beat Remi every day when she was alive. What, is he planning to keep hitting her even after she’s dead?”
“Wait, what did that guy just say? Remi’s already dead? What does that mean–was she still alive when they buried her?”
The sudden turn of events sent a wave of uneasy whispers through the crowd.
Zion stood frozen for a moment before finally frowning and speaking up. “What nonsense are you spouting? Remi was already dead!”
I let out a cold laugh. Even now, Zion was still putting on a show.
After all, if the truth got out, Gemma would never become the heir.
The man who brought the news, breathless and sweating, wiped his brow and insisted, “It’s true! I saw it with my own eyes–Derek dug Ms. Remi up himself. The body’s already rotting! You’d better come see for yourself!”
Panic flickered across Zion’s face as he muttered, “That’s impossible, I clearly…”
But he quickly tried to regain his composure, just as Derek appeared in the doorway, carrying my corpse into the hall.
The body in Derek’s arms was already decomposing, covered in filth, reeking so badly it made people gag.
All ten fingernails were torn and bloody, the fingers twisted at unnatural angles.
It was clear just how much I’d suffered before I died.
The sight of my own ruined body made me squeeze my eyes shut, forcing myself not to relive those desperate, hope- less moments in the coffin.
Guests scattered in terror, some even vomiting on the floor.
The scene was utter chaos. Gemma clung to Zion’s arm, her face twisted with panic.
“How could this happen? How could Remi really be dead?”
But before Zion could answer, his knees buckled and he collapsed to the ground.
“She can’t be dead. She took the fake death pills, and there was water and food in the coffin…
“That’s right! The drug’s effects must not have worn off yet. Remi can’t be dead!”

Derek, still holding my body, glared at them with a crazed look in his eyes.

“When I heard Remi was dead, I didn’t feel anything. She was just a woman who never fought back–I would’ve beat- en her to death sooner or later anyway.
“But a few days ago, someone told me the person who drugged me all those years ago wasn’t her–it was you, Zion!
“For five years, I tormented an innocent woman, all because of you!
“Zion, you manipulated me into abusing Remi, then set her up and had her buried alive, left to die underground. You’re going to pay for this. Give me back my wife!”
Hearing Derek’s words, I felt nothing–not even a flicker of emotion. If anything, I was disgusted.
So, a misunderstanding was enough reason to torture me for five whole years?
All my pain, my fear, my suffering–none of it ever mattered to anyone.
And now, holding my corpse, he pretends to be grief–stricken? It’s sickening.
But Zion seemed possessed, suddenly lunging at Derek and shouting, “Don’t you touch her! She’s not dead!”
The two men quickly started brawling, and my body fell hard to the floor, blood oozing from every orifice.
Gemma screamed, covering her eyes in horror.
She tried to break up the fight, but the two crazed men shoved her aside, tearing her wedding dress in the process.
What was supposed to be a wedding had devolved into a farce.
All I wanted was for this nightmare to finally end.
