Sylvia followed Joanna by car to a hotel.
The hotel lobby was packed as a press conference drew a swarm of reporters.
Dillan stood front and center on the makeshift stage, dressed to the nines in a designer suit. He spoke confidently into the microphone, clearly relishing every second as the center of attention.
Reporters began firing off questions one after another.
A female reporter was the first to ask, “Master Cameron, why have you chosen this particular moment to reveal your identity?”
“There have been too many imposters pretending to be me online lately,” Dillan said nonchalantly. “To keep the public from being fooled, I figured it was necessary to reveal my identity.”
Sylvia stood at a distance, watching the spectacle unfold with cool detachment.
She couldn’t help but smirk inwardly, ‘Dillan is such a smooth–talking fraud. He’s clearly a fake, yet he acts with so much confidence.
Another reporter pressed furth
“How can you prove you’re the real Master Cameron?”
Dillan sneered, “Because I am Master Cameron. What more proof do you need?”
Despite his unwavering confidence, the reporters weren’t convinced.
Joanna had been watching Dillan intently, already convinced he was indeed Master Cameron. Hearing others question his identity actually irritated her.
Joanna gracefully walked up to Dillan’s side and flashed a radiant smile at the reporters. “Everyone, there’s no need to doubt. I can personally vouch
that Dillan is Master Cameron.”
As soon as Joanna appeared, the crowd recognized the rising starlet, and a buzz of whispers rippled through the room.
“Since Master Cameron has long been investing in overseas film projects, it’s only natural that Joanna would know him as an investor.”
“Looks like this Dillan really is Master Cameron after all,” someone murmured.
The crowd looked back at Dillan, their suspicion gone. Instead, reporters began eagerly firing off questions about his investments over the years.
Dillan had memorized every online investment case by heart. Then he launched into yet another round of shameless self–aggrandizement.
The clueless reporters erupted in waves of applause time and again.
-Joanna stayed glued to Dillan’s side, practically broadcasting to everyone that she was his closest friend. Meanwhile, she stole a glance at Sylvia nearby,
her lips curling into a mocking smirk.
Joanna thought smugly, ‘Dillan has helped Sylvia a lot in the past, but who’s to say he won’t do the same for me now?‘
Sylvia hadn’t expected Joanna to vouch for Dillan. A glint of amusement flashed in her eyes as she casually took a seat nearby. ‘What an entertaining farce,’ she thought.
She wasn’t ready to expose Dillan just yet. The higher he climbed, the harder he would fall.
“Now, doesn’t this prove to you all that Mr. Sheppard is indeed Master Cameron?” Joanna scanned the crowd with a triumphant smile and said.
Just then, as Joanna scanned the room, her eyes suddenly lit up. She spotted a familiar figure emerging from backstage.
That man was none other than Ryan, Master Cameron’s assistant, someone she’d dealt with before.

“If anyone still has doubts, you can ask Master Cameron’s assistant, Ryan. I’m sure you all recognize him,” Joanna pointed confidently at Ryan and ad
She thought, ‘Since Ryan is Master Cameron’s assistant, he has to be here for Dillan. All it will take is a single word from Ryan, and Dillan will be accepted as the legendary Master Cameron.
Sure enough, in the next moment, all the reporters recognized Ryan.
Dillan’s face went through a series of expressions as his mind went blank. He didn’t know Ryan at all.
To Dillan’s relief, Ryan didn’t even glance his way as he hurried through the crowd toward a certain direction,
‘Master Cameron, his boss, is right here, so where is Ryan rushing off to?‘ The crowd grew bewildered, their gazes trailing Ryan until every eye landed on Sylvia, seated calmly in her chair.
Ryan hurried over to Sylvia, respectfully pulling a document from his briefcase and handing it to her.
“Boss, my apologies. There’s an issue with the investment proposal,” he stood to the side, head hung low, and murmured like a guilty child.
Sylvia had transferred Ryan back to the domestic market to oversee film investments. When an urgent situation arose, he immediately contacted her and
rushed over.
Sure enough, Sylvia frowned and a flicker of annoyance crossed her eyes as she put the document down. “Ryan, these investment numbers are way off Were you even paying attention?”
Ryan looked regretful as he hurriedly pleaded, “Boss, I know I messed up. Please, just give me one more chance.”
He knew Sylvia’s temperament. She was usually pretty forgiving with her staff,
Then he quickly pulled a box of cosmetics from his briefcase, handed it to Sylvia, and said sheepishly, “Boss, this is your favorite brand. I specially arranged for someone to bring it all the way from overseas for you.”
At that moment, although the reporters nearby couldn’t catch what Ryan was saying, they were all utterly dumbfounded.
They thought, ‘What the hell is going on here?
‘Master Cameron’s assistant is actually fawning over a woman and even offering her cosmetics on his own initiative.
What was more, Ryan hastily poured a cup of warm water and presented it to Sylvia with both hands. “Boss, please calm down. Give me a week, and I promise I’ll make it right,” he pleaded earnestly.
Though displeased, Sylvia accepted the cup and took a smalt sip. She said coolly, “Three days. If you can’t get it done, kiss your paycheck goodbye.”
Ryan immediately reassured him, “Boss, don’t worry. I’ll fix it right away.”
With that, he dashed out of the venue in a hurry.
Joanna was taken aback. She thought, ‘Did Ryan just leave without even glancing at Dillan? Whose assistant is he supposed to be, Dillan’s or Sylvia’s?‘
Dillan’s face flushed under the crowd’s suspicious stares. Suddenly, an idea struck him. Pointing at Sylvia, hurted out, “Don’t get the wrong idea, everyone. She’s just another staff member at our company.”
Joanna paused for a second and then quickly stepped in. “Exactly, everyone. No need to worry. Ryan and Ms. Sullivan are on Mr. Sheppard’s team. They just didn’t greet him because they hadn’t gotten his instructions yet.”
The assembled reporters exchanged glances. Suddenly, it all clicked for them.
“Mr. Sheppard, is it because you’ve deliberately concealed your identity all this time that your subordinates wouldn’t openly acknowledge you as Master

Cameron? So they just got used to acting this way?”
Dillan nodded with a knowing smile. “Exactly. That’s precisely the case,” he said.
The reporters looked back at Sylvia, now convinced she was just another staff member.
Joanna finally felt at ease, her mood much lighter,
Just then, she noticed a stir rippling through the crowd as a dashing, well–groomed man strode in through the entrance.
Many reporters gasped in surprise, “Isn’t that Zander?”
“That’s right. It’s Zander! The film he’s currently shooting is funded by Master Cameron, so he must be here to see him.”
Joanna had the same thought, her lips curling into a smug smile. She thought, ‘Zander used to ignore me. Now he’ll see just how close I am with Master
Cameron.’
Joanna shot a glance at Zander and then turned to Dillan with a knowing smile. “Dillan, was it you who got Zander to come?”
Dillan’s face flushed with embarrassment. Sure, he knew the renowned a–lister Zander, but Zander wouldn’t recognize him if they passed each other on the street.
Just as everyone assumed Zander would head straight for Dillan, to everyone’s surprise, he went to Sylvia’s side again.
Zander walked up to Sylvia with a warm smile and said, “Sylvia, it’s lunchtime. Angel has already made a reservation, so I’m here to pick you up for lunch.”
Zander had absolutely no idea there was a press conference happening. He simply checked the location Sylvia sent him and hurried over since they’d already arranged to have lunch together.
